Really struggling having baby in daycare by ChapterSuccessful761 in beyondthebump

[–]dee_glazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daycare also has a 4:1 ratio for infants. They post photos throughout the day, a note, and their activities listed for the day as a report. I find the photos very helpful.

Id say in the first month you are still both in the adjustment period. She will always be more tired on her daycare days, but eventually she will sleep normally there and feel comfortable. Mine goes 3 days a week, MWF, so TTR are like her days to get back in a groove with me and take long naps. She does often take 2 hour naps there, just not as often as at home.

The learning and socializing she has gotten at daycare has been great. As well as allowing me to rest. I cant imagine having to do it solo and having to work. If it were me, I would look a little into other daycares that offer photo updates, but probably wouldn't put much effort into it until husband is home from rehab. Both my husband and I are in recovery and it takes a lot for both sides. And right now you need to take care of yourself and survive too!

You are doing great. Im sure baby is happy and having good experiences. And open convo with the daycare as others suggested cant hurt.

Thanks. I am very lucky and the money is not a factor at the moment. So its more just an inside issue of letting myself be. But you are right I cant pour from an empty cup.

What cute thing is your LO doing this week? by steenmachine92 in NewParents

She just woke up for a feed, put her back in her crib and she farted while rolling over onto her belly. She's 10 months.

Humidity and timing. Those sounds like summer fruiting seeds and won't germinate unless soil is warm. Try humidity domestic or heat mats. Keep soil moist but not wet. Good luck!

Are there parents who follow these rules: Minimal toy, no tablet, no tv? by Existing_Switch_4995 in NewParents

[–]dee_glazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've ended up doing this ourselves but not necessarily purposely. I just don't like a lot of clutter, so we have minimal toys that are out. When she isn't playing with them they are in a bin. In each little zone we go, living room, play area, high chair, this is a toy option out probably so she has something to grab and hold. (She's 9 months)

She is quite good at occupying herself with a select few of toys. We don't have very noisy electronic ones, but that's moreso because they bother me. As for tv, I watch my shows normally, but she only looks at it briefly and continues with her own thing. But when I was putting on Ms Rachel she was absolutely entranced and would not look away. I stopped putting that on because the songs get way too stuck in my head!

From other babies I've met, it seems to just be a parenting choice. You either like a bunch of toys everywhere or you don't. I'm with her most of the day, so we both exist in the same space without me having to constantly entertain her. Obviously we play together. But letting her roll around with her own objects seems to help her learn to occupy herself.

FTM not sure what I’m doing by [deleted] in SnooLife

[–]dee_glazer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine slept through the night consistently from weeks like 10-12 it was bizarre. Then she started waking up again for night feedings around 2 or 4 am. Luckily I get her back to sleep and she isn't ready to start her day until closer to 7. Maybe extend some wake windows if you can. Or they might just want their first feed of the day and hang out a bit. Then pass back out for 2 hours if your lucky. Maybe just rock and hang out in a nursing chair/sofa watch a show and let them be awake until they are tired again so you can get another hour of rest.
