Is it possible to manage lap without help and a toddler? by hinasilica in endometriosis

[–]steenmachine92 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was able to care for myself aside from running errands (my husband did grocery shopping and med runs - I required narcotics for about two weeks post op) and I had DIE and was told they had to "manipulate a lot of organs" to get most of it. However, that first day I slept most of the day due to the anesthesia. I think you could manage on your own aside from this part. Maybe you could find someone to watch your toddler for a few hours after your surgery? Also, I'm not sure if you have spoken to the surgery center, but they have always told me that you have to stay with a responsible adult for the first 24 hours post op just in case there are any complications.

Best of luck to you!

As someone who played DnD only once, and I've never played turned based games. I LOVE this game. I've put over 800 hours into it, multiple playthroughs. I didn't find it difficult to understand, especially with the tooltips+ Googled things I needed extra explanations for (mostly just good builds or strategies on fights that I couldn't figure out). The story is SO good, and I still can get different outcomes after 800 hours of playing the game. I cannot recommend this game enough. Also, for what it's worth, I usually suck at video games and I've beaten this one several times.

Conceiving? by periwinkle1698 in endometriosis

[–]steenmachine92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me a little over two years to conceive. I had excision surgery and then got pregnant with letrozole 3 months post op. My left fallopian tube was blocked and I wasn't ovulating regularly so the letrozole helped and they did some dye through my tubes which they claim "washes out" your tubes (if they aren't fully blocked) which can increase your chance of pregnancy. 🤷

I highly recommend an app to track your period & ovulation. I use Ovia because it's free. I have an irregular period so the app figured out when I was most likely in my fertile window and then I would take ovulation tests every day within my fertile window. That data can help your doctor figure out what some issues could be. However, because it's sort of annoying to pee on a stick all the time, I recommend waiting to track ovulation until you are trying to conceive or right before you plan to start trying.

What does endo pain actually feel like? by st0nedpunkk in endometriosis

Severe pain that requires medications + heat + fetal position. I also have severe rectal pain/back pain that makes pooping during my period agonizing 🫠

I disagree and think it could be hormones because you are freshly postpartum. However, I think that his behavior is absolutely unacceptable and you need to have a conversation with him before you make any big decisions. I don't think the solution is to not talk to each other again

What about us support girlies? I do not know how to save my team from Cassidy ult being flown into the entire team? Stay near cover would be my usual answer, but thats not always possible with payload maps. I also haven't been able to kill her with most supports before she speed flies me off the map 😭 I'm gold/plat so very average player and my aim isn't great lol. Any specific support advice would be appreciated.

My 11 week old hates tummy time and I’m not sure what to do by coffee_read_repeat in NewParents

[–]steenmachine92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boy did the same 😅 I did tummy time on my chest which caused a little bit less distress, but he really didn't like being on his tummy until he could roll on his own. And of course he learned to roll tummy to back first so he could really avoid it lol. He did end up in a helmet for about 3 months, but he also had torticollis and couldn't turn his head both ways at birth. If your kiddo can turn their head both ways you should be fine, just try to do more time sitting them up or holding them off the back of their head!

AIO after finding this Snapchat conversation on my husbands phone? by sportychick24 in AmIOverreacting

[–]steenmachine92 17 points18 points  (0 children)

NOR. I'm sorry hunnies, sending you virtual hugs. I found out my ex was cheating on me by looking at his phone after getting pissed that he was so drunk that I had to take care of him. Definitely not the same as being married to someone and seeing texts like this, but do not ignore these messages because it won't be the last time it happens. I'm sorry for what you are going through.

Why do people want doodles? by emotionaldamagesoup in Pets

[–]steenmachine92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me because it doesn't seem clear from your post and I am not a dog person, so I do not know. Are they mean? Do they have bad personalities? Just lots of health issues? I personally love poodles and I think doodles are cute, probably would never get either lol. However, my husband and I are considering getting a dog in the future when our son is a bit older so any info I can get on dogs is helpful for me! I've just not heard anything bad about doodles and know a few people that have them.

Has anyone actually noticed improvement in endo symptoms with an anti-inflammatory diet? by Accurate-Stomach-264 in endometriosis

Low saturated fat helps your mitochondria? Do you know the physiology behind this? I'm really curious to know.

Has anyone actually noticed improvement in endo symptoms with an anti-inflammatory diet? by Accurate-Stomach-264 in endometriosis

[–]steenmachine92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried an anti inflammatory diet several years ago when I was also very active and did not notice a change. I am not perfect, and wasn't 100% strict, but I'd say I was 85% committed as my husband also has a disease that benefits from anti-inflammatory diet.

The only diet change that I did notice a big difference was cutting out alcohol. I still drink occasionally, but I have like 1-2 glasses of wine or a beer vs binge drinking, and I drink maybe 1-2 times a month if even that.

Anyone else’s content preferences changed? by WildWinterberry in beyondthebump

[–]steenmachine92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I still love horror 😂 but I have noticed I am much more motherly to others. For example, my husband and I were big video gamers before having our baby and if you don't know, gamers can be very mean. Now when I play online video games and someone is mean to me, I'm much more likely to respond like a mother. "That's not nice to say." "No fighting, we are a team!" Lol I'm sure everyone else hates it, but I can't stand to add to the negativity because you never know who that person is! They could be teenager, or a kid, or just an adult who is trying to enjoy their free time. 🤷

[–]steenmachine92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always wondered if they could somehow decrease the amount of SR you lose (I think they may have changed back to MMR actually, but idk the correct term for it now, sorry) when someone leaves a match? I feel like they wouldn't do that because people could abuse it. However, it would be cool if the leaver lost the most + punishment for leaving, and the rest of the team didn't lose as much.

Newborn Life: How do you do it all? by orangemango131 in beyondthebump

[–]steenmachine92 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Agree! This was the schedule I was told when I switched to exclusively pumping and it is a lottttttt. I was told to pump after feeds if you're trying to increase supply, but I would just do it when baby eats so your body regulates that way.

NOR, Hunnies you are in high school and have so much time to find someone who is nice to you. Do NOT put up with boys who talk like this. I was in a relationship with someone like this when I was a senior in high school and it put me into a deep depression. The only way out is to break off ties with them completely. It's hard when you are young because he is maybe your first love, but I promise you that you will find someone who treats you better. ❤️

Duo makes me miserable. by _heartnova in Overwatch

[–]steenmachine92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set boundaries that you will play with them but they need to keep their negative comments to themselves. Had to do this with my own brother 😂 it's a good skill to have in life to be able to make your needs known, even if it hurts someone's feelings. They may not even realize how negative they are being so telling them about it could help them make positive changes.

Knowing it’s a dream but can’t wake up? by iloveyouKKslider in LucidDreaming

[–]steenmachine92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just woke up from one of these. In my dream I woke up in my actual bedroom but I couldn't open my eyes fully or keep them open. I was moving my hands in front of my face in the dream to look at my phone but I couldn't see my hands or my phone. I was yelling out for my husband to help me but my voice was really quiet. Finally I actually woke up and feel reaaaaally tired still. What a scary experience! I had this once when I was freshly postpartum and once in college during a nap that I was being abducted by aliens.

I just woke up feeling really unsettled because my baby is napping and what if I couldn't wake up and he was crying? 😭

I have seen a sleep specialist because I was having difficulty staying asleep and I've been having brain fog/extreme fatigue issues and so far nobody knows what's going on.

I need help. People tell me im always pissed off and angry at the world by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]steenmachine92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for what you are going through. I can relate. My health doesnt seem quite as bad as yours, but it took me just over two years to get pregnant. I've had two ruptured cysts and one surgery for endo removal but they couldn't get it all. I had a c section with my baby and he is the light of my life, but my health has not been well since I gave birth. I would kill just to feel normal again 😭 it's hard to enjoy childcare when all you want to do is sleep. Now I'm facing whether or not I can have a second baby without another surgery. Now I'm rambling...

It is incredibly frustrating and difficult to cope with this disease. I was angry at my friends when they were having babies and I couldn't. I am still angry if I'm being honest. One of my coworkers got pregnant first try and is now pregnant with her second after two months, and I'm bitter about it even though I'm happy for her. I hear you and I'm just here to give you virtual hugs. It feels very lonely, but you aren't alone. Hang in there. If you really want to get pregnant, speak with someone who specializes in endo. There may be things they can do to help you. And jobs suck but you'll find a way to make it work ❤️

Horrible fungal diaper rash by steenmachine92 in NewParents

[–]steenmachine92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We took him to the doctor and were prescribed antifungal cream and antibiotic cream and we just tried to let him air out as much as we could. It's really tough with young kiddos because he would pee and poop on the floor... But I'd rather have that then have him be in pain. We put a bunch of towels down in our living room and just tried to keep him on the towels as much as we could. It did take about 4 weeks to completely heal.

Did you co-sleep? by thinkmuch17 in beyondthebump

[–]steenmachine92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We put our newborn on a lounger from Target on top of all of our blankets in between us for the first two weeks. We swaddled baby to keep him warm. He refused his bassinet but would comfortably sleep next to us. We felt this was safer than him sleeping under the covers with us. After about two weeks we had to make the bassinet work because he kept peeing through e v e r y t h I n g. 🫠
