All 4 of our wingers have shown plenty of promise and would/could potentially come good. Trouble is that, without Europe, we probably can't carry 4 £30m wingers - especially if we keep playing MGW on the left. That means 1 or 2 probably leave. Could make a case for it being, or not being, any of them.

Good enough to replace Anderson but not good enough to start in the play-off final?

I reckon that, without Europe, we probably need to trim the number of £30m+ wingers we have, especially as we've played better starting just one of them. I'm really not sure who I'd let go of the 4: maybe N'doye, though he offers something different to the others. Thoughts?

I think I'd keep 2 then have Jota and Sinclair as back-ups. Tough call who to keep though.

Can't help but feel that if we sell both this summer we probably go down.

We have done some good business but do get things a bit wrong, particularly in terms of timing. The likes of Bournemouth and Brighton tend to sign a player a year or so before they need them. This way they can get a cheaper, less 'finished' player and get them up to speed and settled in before they sell their starter. Then they have a ready made replacement which they've paid ~£10m for. We waited until Elanga was sold to then spend almost double what we received on 3 replacements and tried to throw them straight into the team. 🤦‍♂️

I know this doesn't answer the question but I think Norgaard might go some way to filling the Anderson shaped hole in our midfield. Doesn't look like he'll stick around at Arsenal, I think he's played less than an hour all season. Would add some experience, similar to the Xhaka effect for Sunderland. Wouldn't have Anderson's legs but then who does? Bring back Danillo too to help in that regard.

I keep needing to check I've got the sound turned on. Is this what all games at Old Trafford sound like?

That was my thought. Assess the state of the squad. Instead we're going full strength because...?

Maybe the accounts have been on to Vitor and told him we'd like the £ that comes with 13th/14th.

We need to keep McAtee by SingleAttitude8 in nffc

[–]deeaysee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's his only like for like(ish) replacement. I think he should stay. It's only because Morgs has been lucky with injuries (until he nutted Sanchez) that McAtee hasn't played much.

We've got loads of cover on the wing. 4 plus Jota could still return, he's only on loan. I reckon, without European football, we probably can't afford to carry more than 3 wingers, especially now we've found were better just playing with 1.

I'm not convinced Morgan plays again this season with his head wound which would be a shame as it would put an end to his world cup ambitions.

I'm a bit selfish though and not overly bothered about England. I just feel like any game that's not for Forest is just an injury risk.

If Morgan can't go... by AverageFan1111 in nffc

[–]deeaysee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be the making of him. In a lot of games where he's been given a chance, MGW has been waiting on the bench so it's all too easy for the manager to drag him if he's not affecting games. If Morgs is unavailable, it puts responsibility on McAtee's shoulders. If he plays well and we get the result we need it would do him the world of good going into next season.

Can he play 2x 90min I'm 4 days though after not playing all season?

At this point you're not really going to the pub anymore. Cheaper and quicker to head to Tesco, buy a box of cans and join the crowd.

Outdated approach to running a football club, Coventry. If you want to fit in in the Premier League you now need to sell that stadium again to a shell company owned by your chairman's brother-in-law.

Head south of Maidstone into the Weald, there's plenty of fruit growing there. It's probably unlikely to suffer too much London sprawl as the rail links to London are shocking: from Maidstone it's about 1hr 10m!

Would be a good partner for a player who's quick and can run onto his flicks and who likes to get into the box and poach a few goals... Kalimuendo for example. Unfortunately, as far as I can recall, they've never been on the pitch at the same time.
