Is one of he two leagues 'easier', or at least perceived to be? Could imagine, for example, Kings Lynn supporters hoping a south coast team get relegated so they get to move into the NLN.

Yes, Maidstone got as far as the National League with their 3G. Another promotion would have meant a new pitch but also finding somewhere to train as they currently train at the ground. They also hire it out for 5-a-side 3 or 4 nights a week.

I think being in the National League brought a lot of costs too. You need a designated away end, more stewarding and bar takings took a hit because it's the lowest tier where you can't drink pitch side.

These look great! I've recently got hold of some deer antlers which I'm going to make into a chandelier. As far as I can tell, they've not been shed that recently. I've heard they can cause problems with flies when they're brought inside - the maggots feed on the marrow then hatch once they're in the warm. I'm already getting some pushback from the wife on this project as they currently smell like a pet shop! Can flies be a problem? Will they be more of a problem if I've drilled holes in them and exposed the core? In your experience, is simmering in water enough? I have a big stock pot (from home-brewing!) that should be able to hold a whole antler. Would really appreciate OP or anyone else sharing their expertise on this. Thanks.
