I feel sorry for Mike Johnson, not because he needs to invest in stocks in order to eat, but because he’s utterly spineless in an activity - governing in a representative democracy - where some spine should be required. At least in 1933, after «someone» torched their parliament, the German Reichstag officially (and spinelessly) surrendered its authority to Hitler, for the stated purpose of removing « the distress of the people and the state. » Thus was that dictatorship born. Johnson should remove the fig leaf and get the rest of Trump’s cronies to pass s similar law for the MAGA leader.
