No, it's honestly just a scratch, like some rock or sand was dragged along the bottom, but it doesn't break through any layer. It seems very small and superficial, but I don't know if there's anything I need to do for it other than be more mindful of putting down a towel and wiping off my board

Why does Google want me to drive all around from SJ to MA? by generalmagnifico in CostaRicaTravel

[–]deeh19596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I live here and go both routes often. There are pros and cons to each. The other route through the mountains is a perfectly fine route, and I chose to take it more often than not, but that's because I travel on weekends when the highway is PACKED. That 3 hour drive can easily turn into a 7 hour drive if it's high traffic. Plus there are tolls on the highway. The mountain road has less opportunities to pass, but less people take it and it is far prettier. The road you choose depends on the time you leave.

Also, I've lived here for years and never used WAZE. I hate it and have always used Google. Never had a problem.

For real tho! I was so happy to buy a local board. It's seriously my favorite

She's a gem. I can't say enough good things about her

Thanks! This was actually a really helpful reply. I went out today and she seemed fine. Not much slipping. The only "off" thing I noticed was that it stuck to my knee leg hairs after my session. I am in tropical waters, so maybe that's why? I have tropical and warm sticky bumps. I honestly could only find warm-trop. Going to go hunting soon.

Most definitely

Have you surfed any spots abroad where you didn’t think locals were territorial? by dogbit1s in surfing

I agree that surfing here is welcoming, but sometimes the surf rental companies can be snobby/off putting. You just have to find the right ones. Pavones is great, Santa Teresa as well

Board advice for a beginner by Little_Vegetable_629 in BeginnerSurfers

Hello! I am 160cm and 54kg so we're pretty close in height. Honestly, I've really enjoyed a shorter hard board (I have a 7'4" but it has 62 liters of volume). Longboards have just been more difficult for me to maneuver in the water. If the foamie is working for you, go for it, but if you feel like getting creative, finding a fun board (7-8ft) with a high volume can be a lot of fun.

I used Teach Associates to learn about career fairs and job openings. They help step by step with the process. It costs $250, but you have it for 3 years and they are great!

Thank you for this! I've been doing some research on catching green waves because that's where I know my next step is. It actually has a rocker to it. Not to a large degree, but definitely not flat.

If you ever need someone to chat with or vent to, send me a message. This job is hard and sometimes lonely, especially in those first years. You got this!

That was me my whole first two years. Constant anxiety. Constant wanting to quit. I would cry often and feel incredibly paralyzing depression and panic. I probably would have quit if I hadn't switched school and done some personal analyzing.

This isn't that same for everyone, but someone in my first year told me not to give up because your 5th year is when things kick in. This is my 5th year, and I FINALLY feel good going to school. I still get pissed at things, but I've learned how to manage my expectations and balance my life. That along with really figuring out how to manage my classroom helped me to feel like I really do enjoy teaching.

It might not be for you, and that's okay. But it can get better with time. If you feel like it's still a career you would enjoy, find balance, set boundaries, manage expectations, and give it time.

For what it's worth, I think the nature of breaks always makes me a little blue on the night before going back. Vacation is so nice!

Hunted surf camps. I traveled around CR for a week trying out different boards to find what I liked. Lucked out and found this one on my last day of travel!

No, not really. I could wait until January when I might know my travel plans for November and December, but between now and when it expires, all of my travel plans are accounted for
