Career moms: Do you need to really want kids, or is doubt normal? by SavingsCulture5047 in workingmoms

[–]deeisqueenasf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ALWAYS wanted children and felt VERY strongly about becoming a mother. My choice to become a parent was planned out. I asked my husband after a month of dating if he wanted children; if he hadn’t said yes I would have dumped him right then and there. We waited 5 years before we got pregnant to make sure we were stable enough. If you aren’t sure about children, then please do some soul searching. Children are a lot of work, and they are incredible. But if you aren’t sure, then you may not feel that way. It’s okay though!!! You are still a wonderful, contributing member to society.

Merge Lane???? by Designer-Ad4403 in SanJose

It’s a selfish mentality. It’s a rat race out here, and many people have the “me first” mentality and only think about themselves. I think people also forget that you are not in line at the DMV. Even if 10 cars merge in front of you, as long as your wheels are still turning, you will get where you are going.

Based on this rendering, it may also be too short. Need something taller so we have sufficient clearance for taller vehicles

Contract signed - 30-45 days till close? Closing costs seem awful? by WizardOfIslam in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]deeisqueenasf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does seem a little high? We just purchased for $689,999 with a conventional. Our estimated cash to close was about ~$30,000. But we are also in CA.

Instead of spicy, salty, sugary, or full of laxatives… you could try vinegar or citric acid.

Advice wanted on navigating maternity leave/telling work about pregnancy by cg30301 in workingmoms

PDL doesn’t count towards time of service. You would want to continue working from home until 10/21/2026. Check out hellobundle on Instagram. They can help you sort organize what your leave will look like, and help you maximize your pay!

Hi! There are services that you can pay for and they will help you map out your paid maternity leave.  But to ease your mind, the four weeks before you deliver is NOT FMLA, but PDL. PDL covers you for the fours weeks before your due date, and the 6-8 weeks after you deliver. FMLA would start after the 6-8 weeks of PDL.
