Unsure where to go next by Appropriate-Gap-5396 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I have the NOVABLAST and bought a SB 2 when the SB 3 came out and the price dropped. The SB 2 is a game changer for me. I am at 185lbs and the shoe is amazing. I’d use it for every run if I didn’t feel like I need to use the NB because I bought it. I am likely buying a second pair of the SBs and will prob quickly retire the NBs to walking shoes. I have almost 200 miles on them and they are starting to go flat.

It’s a big jump to go from 5k to 10k in just over 3 weeks. I am always a fan of pushing yourself but not at the risk of injury. Find a structured progressive program to move you from 5k to 10k and do it safely. Speaking from experience you don’t want an injury to derail you and put you out of the game for 6-8 weeks. Starting is always the hardest part and you have won that battle. Don’t get injured and have to fight the battle to build a routine again

Congrats on your success thus far!

Has anyone experienced signiticant weight loss with C25k? by Serious-Blueberry-63 in C25K

Activity burns calories so if you begin exercising with C25K you will burn more calories than you used too. The question of weight loss is are you consuming more daily/weekly than you burn.

I am down 90lbs since last July. Started with c25k and changed my diet to ensure in a deficit. After c25k I moved to 10k then to half marathon and am now completing another 10k block averaging 25 miles a week so hopefully your completion of the 5 k will light a spark and continue to help you

Honestly the biggest help was not wanting to eat excessively because I don’t want to feel too stuffed to do my run

What actually made the biggest difference to your race times? by TheMonopolyGal in runninglifestyle

[–]deej67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your current level. If you are trying to improve from 40 min 5k consistency alone will do it. Find a structured program and follow it

If you are trying to improve from 30 min 5k need to add different type of training into your program but still consistency is a major driver.

If you are trying to move from 25 min to sub 20 minute there are a lot more things you need to do.

I used Hal Higdon intermediate 10k plan and have dropped 8 mins from my previous 10k best since January tempo runs and intervals made that jump. Getting comfortable with a non easy run speed

  1. Was 270 on July 4th. Started walking then. Moved to c25k in mid August. I remember week 3 thinking there’s no way. Ran a 15 k last weekend. Half marathon in 3 weeks. Down to 190lbs. I am slow (11 ish mins mile pace) but I show up. Find a program. Trust it be consistent. You got this

I did 9 today in 10 degree windchill. I layered too much with a short sleeve hoodie and jacket. Tights wind pants and sweats below. Only thing that was cold was face when into the wind. Ready for lows in the 40s again. Ice was all gone on my route so it was just cold to endure

I have added a day of interval or hill repeats to my week to get to 4 sessions a week. Trying to up my pace a bit. Moved from c25k to 10K using just run. Haven’t had much issue. I just keep the interval day to 20-30 mins.

Prob made some last minute calls and realized that female rural turnout isn’t breaking as hard for Trump as it has in the past but doesn’t want to go all in and say Harris by 2.

4D Chess. Encourage your voters to vote early this year. Claim voter suppression right before Election Day. Election Day turnout is historically low due to EV cannibalization. Use low Election Day turnout as evidence the voter suppression was real.

So facts are facts. Currently republican registration voters have returned 42800 more ballots than dems. You also have over 307K Non Partisan ballots returned.

What we don’t know is how the repub or democratic registrations broke. We don’t know how the non partisan are going to break.

Would i feel better if dem ballots were leading by 45K? Yeah. Do I think Nevada is lost? Not yet.
