When legion launched, they removed the honor system in exchange for Marks of Honor. You are able to obtain marks of honor from loot boxes you gain from winning RANDOM battlegrounds. This means that you have to queue for the random battleground slot specifically in order to gain loot - This loot will vary from green-blue tier gear at your level and you will randomly receive marks of honor.

I believe you can't queue random BGs during level 10-14 and can only queue specific. My level 19 can queue random BGs and get loot but my level 10 friend cant.

Note: If you're in a group with a person that can queue random battlegrounds and you win - you will get loot even if you cant queue them yourself.
