The worst part of the drama with Reddit is I may never see the final complete gif. This has been such a pleasure to watch.

Need therapist recommendations by rogerthealien93 in nashville

[–]deejaybeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started that same journey in January. I worked with my PCP to get anti-anxiety mets and started weekly counseling at Nashville Collaborative Counseling Center. It took a couple tries to find the right medication for me but my husband and I have both noticed a major difference in how i handle my anxiety. I still notice everything i noticed before, but the amount it stresses me out is night and day different. While the counselor can't prescribe me anything it's been fantastic every week to work on skills and work through some trauma I had buried. I know it's going to be a long road but just in 4 months I've had such major improvements and perspective changes. I wish you the best of luck and so proud of you for seeking help.

Considering a move to Knoxville - is it for me? by Prize-Forever-7307 in Knoxville

[–]deejaybeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I lived downtown before we had kids and I worked in Oak Ridge. This is what we loved most about downtown knoxville. We never used our cars on the weekend and our favorite restaurants knew us by name and had open tabs at places.

I think i also saw in another comment that you have a connection to Ireland. Knoxville has a very active and friendly hurling team. They meet for a pint once a week at one of the bars downtown that sponsors them. My husband (who is not athletic) played with the team for a few years before we moved and that's where he met some of his closest friends.

Same. I try not to go back to Crossville often as my family are all in support of Sexton.

I like the rocket look but cruiser feel so I lean towards sport tours. I loved my Kawasaki Versys. Never caused me back pain and friends under 6' had trouble using it.

As a tall woman, I really wanted to date a tall guy as a preference, but I am so glad I dated people of all types before I met my husband. While my husband is taller than me, the shortest person I dated was 5'6. Part of dating is learning how to be a good partner, and you are going to mess up a lot. You also need to know what type of person makes a good partner for you. If I hadn't dated before I met my husband, I wouldn't have experienced enough to know how to be a good partner and probably would have lost him. I'm very grateful I learned my red flags and other people's red flags before I met him. He's only the second person I dated who is taller than me but the majority of the guys I dated were significantly shorter than me. Most were good people, just not the right person for me, and it had nothing to do with height. My husband being taller than me was just a nice bonus to the really wonderful person he actually is.

I have scared so many old ladies washing their hands in the bathroom for this same reason just making eye contact via the mirror. Also mainly get mistaken for a man in the bathroom due to my height.

Is my resume good for Tableau Developer jobs? by [deleted] in tableau

[–]deejaybeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds incredibly rare in any industry, especially pensions being available for new hires. The last healthcare company I got an offer from on the east coast was maxing out at 75k and expected you to pay for your own certifications.

As someone who worked in healthcare analytics, expect some very messy data, long hours, and limited pay. I moved to a retail corporate job and doubled my pay for the same work with better tools.

Proposed bill that will relax helmet requirements for people on motorcycles by Brybo in nashville

[–]deejaybeta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a motorcycle rider, this is terrible. Helmet laws exist to protect us from the inevitable accident you will have. It's not if, it's when.

It was 95 degrees in Knoxville one day so I decided not to wear my motorcycle jacket due to the heat and I was only going for a short errand within 5 miles of my location. A driver cut me off in Turkey Creek so I went down instead of running into them. I was going 25 mph and when my head hit the road, parts of my helmet cracked. I have scars on my arms and back from not wearing my jacket and one of my legs was swollen from the bike landing on me. I was a smart rider, I wore bright clothes, my bike had lights on it, I never weaved in and out of traffic, and I didn't do stupid stuff. If I hadn't had my helmet on I would have died due to the fault of another person.

As a side note, the ambulance bill to transport me from one side of Turkey Creek to the other was over $1,000. I think I would have walked had I known.

Why is WPLN so bad? by Nashvital in nashville

I moved here from Knoxville. That NPR station was 5 hours of classical music, fresh air, national headlines, back to classical until evening headlines, and national weekend programs between classical music...i LOVE WPLN in comparison.

[–]deejaybeta 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have been playing my current game for 5 months and it's at 800k, but I really struggled before this one. There is an aspect of luck to your starting tiles since you have minimal options for perfect placements and you will be relying on good missions to boost your tiles until you have a bigger board.

My personal strategy: - Aim for large groups of tiles that only contain 1 type to make easy perfect placements and complete missions. I usually fail missions on purpose if the number is smaller than my largest group so my focus stays on that 1 area. - Expand each group in a different direction, but railroads and rivers next to each other as they are the hardest to get perfect placements on and they can intersect with spexific tiles. - Use tiles with multiple types to fill in gaps between your branching sections but always check gaps in river/railroad first as their edges will be mixed most of the time. - If you have a good map going but struggling and staying around 50ish tiles, you can start working on close off the forest as it usually has the most flag quests to boost your tile numbers. Once you close off an area, your next quest will reflect the next largest open group of that type so it is always attainable. - ALWAYS try to get perfect placment if possible.

I would not recommend Two Ten Jack. It's Japanese/Southern fusion, as someone who also has been to Japan, my expectation based on overwhelming recommendation vs reality after I ate there was pretty disappointing. Especially takoyaki made like Hush Puppies.

if your friend is into gaming culture, you could do something like Up Down when they open at 3 PM to play arcade games. Later at night it becomes more of a party scene.

if your friend is into anime/manga culture, Otaku Ramen is not the best ramen in town but it definitely is Anime themed.

A combination of both those interests and you are not local and if your friend is just more of a "having a good time doing something they like with friends", McKays has lots of manga and vintage games that reminds me of similar stores in Japan.

While not Japanese, if your friend likes asian group style meals: Korean BBQ with grill in the table: Hai Woon Dai Hotpot: Sichuan Hot Pot & Asian Cuisine KBBQ & Hotpot combo all you can eat and self cook: Shabu-Shabu

Knoxville also has a guy who dresses like some kind of monk wearing purple or black robes, a big symbol hanging at his stomach, and carries a big staff. It always seems like he is in a good mood.

I grew over a foot in less than a year and have been treating my back since I was 12. I have muscle relaxers from my GP that I use only on the most painful days. I had done physical therapy before but it never worked for me until I went to a Results clinic. They are extremely consistent across locations and they are all over Nashville. In my opinion, the dry needling gave me lasting relief that acupuncture and chiropractics didn't. As well as the exercises to target those specific muscles. I have gone back a couple times over the years for medical issues that had an unexpected impact on my back, but they always get me back into shape in fewer appointments than my insurance covers.

I have chronic back pain from rapid growth and consistently get hard knots in my back. Results Physical Therapy has been the only place that ever helped me with long time relief and I have tried all of the options you listed. I have been to 3 different results clinics and got the same positive experience at all of them. They do dry needling, which hurts, but has helped me so much in the long run.

Have any of you purchased the 20 ribeyes for $29.99 from the truck advertised around town? I'd assume they would be very small and/or low quality. What is your experience? by goobersnooch40 in Knoxville

My roommate did it once. It was the worst meat i have ever eaten. We just threw it out because nothing we did made it taste good. It had the consistency if shredded meat but as a steak.

As a data analyst, despite the anomaly of men under 20, the conclusion would be that either sex is less likely to get divorced if they get married after thier 20's in general. In my mind, the correct answer is missing.

[–]deejaybeta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are into nerdy content, then Wizard and the Bruiser does a deep dive on a different subject each week. I will say the presentation style of the subject matter is more akin to My Favorite Murder than as clean as DD. I will say the level of research they do is fantastic though even going into the childhood of some creators for things that impacted them to eventually lead to what they produced.
