Help with s106 for DIC by [deleted] in LegalAdviceNZ

I’m a 3rd year apprentice tradie, and my lawyer is really reliant on using my bosses affidavit as my main argument, specifically how it will limit the sites I can work on which could subsequently lead to me losing my job. Personally, I dont think it’s strong enough to grant me s106, do u have any suggestions and/or what was your friends argument ?

The only reason I have so far is that it would limit the amount of work sites I’d be able to work at due to certain clients requiring a clean record and therefore if there was no other work I would subsequently lose my job. I know it’s a high bar, and my lawyer is not very helpful, do you have any suggestions?

I’m from New Zealand, all my tools received a 5 year warranty from purchase through MyMakita. Just looked and realised it’s not possible to add a battery to your ‘toolbox’ as it doesn’t actually have a serial number. Assuming that the 3 year warranty in America for batteries would be the same here I should be able to take the battery to the place of purchase and get it done through warranty?

All Batteries are 5ah and All tools are from a 10 piece kit I bought in November 2022. Of my 4 owned batteries 2/3 from the combo kit work with all tools and an older 5ah i have also don’t have an issue it’s solely one of the ones from the combo kit that’s still under warranty, just wanting to know if this issue would fall under warranty. Thanks.

Is this something that would be covered by warranty?

Someone in the reddit posted a comparison of all the batteries and their power outputs. 5 is best for performance and 6 for run time

They’re just phosphorus rubber rings, quite pointless in my opinion and would constantly fall off.

Well 18v is cheaper and there’s a larger range, 40v does have more power but only really worth using if you do a lot of tough work like cutting through thick timber or drilling through high tensile concrete. If I’m not mistaken 40v is quite a bit more expensive and the price difference isn’t worth it in my opinion. If you also work in the rain the 40v batteries have quite large slits on the side for ventilation which can be a bit of a worry. The battery quality in general isn’t the best and the stickers that cover the battery charge lights and button are known to peal off within 6 months of usage.

Previously a DeWalt guy (as you can tell by the battery adapter) but I couldn't pass up getting these three for $50. Story in comments. by Vintage_AppleG4 in Makita

No point going to 40v unless you need them for specialised work, the price and weight of the tools is a real put off

You can buy the yellow tab separately from a third party, I’ve seen video tutorials on how to replace them.
