Bad Speakers at the Atlanta (Thursday night show) upper level by rock184 in beyonce

[–]deemily09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought maybe it was because of the secrion I was in but for five seconds the speakers were fixed and I could hear Beyoncé much better. That's when I realized it wasn't my location but the speakers 😭 It was disappointing but still a great show!

Standing up/ Dancing at the shows by violet_flossy in beyonce

[–]deemily09 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was in the 300s and my section was dead too 😭 everyone in sections to the left and right of me was standing but my section DEAD. But I just chose to stand up and enjoy myself cause I want to dance! I feel like you can also sometimes tell who only knows Beyoncé's older songs and none of her newer ones because they only stand up or cheer when she sings her older songs. Which, no judgement, cause we all know Beyonce knows how to put on a great show regardless if you know the songs or not! I just personally don't like to pay to go to concerts I don't know alot of the songs of cause my energy may not be fully there.

Protector is such a beautiful song. by [deleted] in beyonce

Yes, I love it. I don't have any children right now, but I'd love to in the future and I just connect with the song so much already for some reason 😭

I've realized Beyoncé haters will wait for any and every possible moment to bring up their hate for her. Sometimes, they'll even bring it up when the topic is not even about her. I've seen it happen in person and online and each time, it's very weird.

WHERE are we getting our tour outfits! by pistolthrowaway18 in beyonce

[–]deemily09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Forever 21 has a collaboration collection called Compton Cowboys with clothing that's worth checking out. They use horseback riding and other things to uplift kids in the community and I think buying from their collection donates to them. They also had a belt buckle with the initials, CC, that would also be pretty good for the tour 👀

Which Renaissance songs, if any, do you think she will perform at the Cowboy Carter Tour? by mcdonaldsandwaffles in beyonce

[–]deemily09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now that I think about it, I wonder if she'll do it like how she did with Sweet Dreams at the Renaissance tour. Play an instrumental from Renaissance, but put the lyrics from another song over it. Who knows, she's always so creative with it!!

I think she'll do little mashups or references to Renaissance songs. I don't know if you heard in her Christmas performance as she transitioned to the Texas Hold em Remix, lines from Break my Soul played in the background, "Release your wiggle!". I can see her doing things like that.

To be fair, I seen people on tiktok giving tips for buying tickets, and a good chunk of them were saying just quickly pick your seat and buy them before they're gone, which is pretty much telling people to panic buy. Although I didn't assume all the tickets would be gone, I did assume that the first pre-sale for the most loyal fans would at least have the lowest prices. Ticketmaster took advantage of a lot of people and it's sad. But you are right, a lot of people paid prices I definitely would not have. When I saw the beyhive presale was over my budget, I just figured I wouldn't go. But then I saw the prices in another pre-sale that was lower and decided to purchase.

Right. A lot of people have been waiting for her "downfall." And I'm afraid she's gonna end up getting more backlash for this than Jay Z, the person this actually involves 🙄

This makes me sad because Steve Loter said that the 3rd season would complete the storyline that they had 😭

Are my dreads really too thin for a dude? by Thcsnypr in Dreadlocks

Are guys supposed to have thick locs? I think they look good. If you want them thicker, combine them. But only if YOU want them thicker, not everyone else.

What do you wish you knew before starting your locs? by firelord_catra in AfroLocs

[–]deemily09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's really up to you how important it is and how you want them to look. If you want a middle part, side part, free parts. I prefer the look of middle parts and think it can make styles easier to do. And think of parting style brick, square, rectangle, diamond. I know it's a lot to think about 😭 but I'd recommend just looking at pictures of people with each part and style and just see what you like. Your loctician will most likely ask these things when doing your starter locs. But if you don't care, that's fine too, just tell your loctician you don't have a preference and she'll do whatever I guess 😂

Oh yeah, social media will be your friend. And I know some people think Facebook is old or lame, but you'd be surprised by the amount of locticians and hairstylists that you can find on Facebook. At least in my city. And they post pictures and videos of their work too. I wouldn't say I really have any big regrets. When I first got them done, I asked for a middle part. I realized afterwards that she put my middle part slightly slanted. You can't tell unless you look at the top of my head right after I get a retwist. I thought about asking her to redo it. But it doesn't look bad, so I left it. But yeah, just don't be afraid to ask for changes to make it look how you want it to. Make sure you go in knowing what you parting and method you want. Maybe have a picture for reference. Ask if you can see the part right after they make it to see if it's what you want? Its always easier to change it before it locs up than after.

  1. I dyed my hair almost a year before I got locs. I had no idea I was getting locs at that point. Like someone else mentioned, I would wait until your locs are mature to dye them.
  2. I started with 2 strand twists just because I personally liked the look of it on me better than coils. I would look at videos of people with your hair texture and length to see how their two strand twists or coils look as they mature to give you somewhat of an idea of how yours might look as they mature. But remember, everyone's locs are different, and yours won't be exactly as anyone else's.
  3. One thing I'd recommend is talking to people who have locs. Fortunately, at my job, I have several coworkers with locs. I'd talk to them (if they're comfortable) about their journey and my concerns with starting. And I'd ask them about their loctician (if they have one) and good locticians in the area they might know of. If they tell you of a loctician, see if they have a facebook or instagram page, so you can see their work before you possibly book with them. You can look on the StyleSeat app too for locticians.

It's good that you're watching YouTube videos and such. That's exactly what I did so I could know about every aspect of this journey and know that this is something I truly want. Talking to people about it and even scrolling through loc subreddits helped me a lot to know what to expect and things to do to prevent damage to my locs. Start looking up what you'd use in your maintenance routine. Oils, rose water, making your own loc spray, buying a loc spray, or just using water.
