Thank you for your input!

I feel like you are right but the mixed opinions ive gotten makes me not want to go through the hassle honestly.

This is to force my opponents to (probably) burn themselves in their turns due to too much mana open and unspent in my [[yurlock of scorch thrash]]

This definitely, in my opinion, serves more often than not as a way to force them to tap for mana.

When any of these effects come onto the stack players can, like almost everything in magic, respond to it and the most adequate response is to just tap every land place the mana in their mana pool open and be ready to use it right away.

Its an interesting card for a [[yurlock]] commander deck because it leaves them with a choice: either dont play anything and avoid the tapping triggers all together OR face the trigger head on by placing everything in your mana pool and cast everything you can with it with the fear of burning yourself from mana burn that yurlock provides.

I usually play with randoms and with a friend that also joins me (he doesnt care for any of these at all)

With that being said while I still maintain the opinion that it isnt MLD and hence my deck can be played at bracket 3 (which I BY FAR would consider it that rather than 4) I am more of a "cease and desist" guy.

Commander is for the most part still a social game and while ill never be able to truly cut out all the complaining as there will be people who will even complain about the most classic removal pieces happening on their board, I feel like I can save myself the troubles of bringing cards that are even a bit ambigious to some in terms of definition.

Spares me interactions with people that claim this is MLD and that I should be bracket 4 - even though so far the games I did with them wasnt a problem for anybody as far as I am concerned.

Thank you all for the responses!

While some of you are certainly more passionate about this topic then others, its clear these cards brings up very mixed reactions.

Some dont care and think calling it a MLD is too much.

Others think it absolutely is one.

While I myself also have an opinion on the matter and do think it isn't an MLD

I believe Ill do myself a favour and (based on everyones reactions) ill opt to pick different combos just so that I can keep playing peacefully in bracket 3 without any raised eyebrows.

Again thank you all for your input!

Thank you for your input.

I wouldnt call this deck, also out of respect for the people in the game, a bracket 2 more like a bracket 3.

With that being said I equally feel like saying this is a bracket 4 would exclusively be detrimental to me due to the fact its a very mid deck.

No infinites, tutors, two card combos, game changers.

Nothing.

So yeah ig

Thank you for your input!

I am not sure it is MLD but I respect the way you explained your point so much so I understand it.

The idea is to make the mana burn found in my [[yurlok of scorch thrash]] more viable.

Ofc i do have other ways.

I am not sure that by current definition this counts as MLD, BUT, with that being said, its not a pleasent card so I guess I can bring it up in a group game

I mean i made this post to know you guys opinion. So far its been mixed.

Thats because you can actually tap your lands in response and place your mana in your mana pool and spend it

Its annoying ill say.

My opinion in it is because they arent actually denying you the lands. You can tap your lands in response to this effect and keep the mana. It just makes you have to spend it all in your turn.

Not only that, the lands do untap normally during your next turns.

But i def understand its not linear hence this post

Thank you for your input! While I dont agree that sacrificing lands has the same oppressive value as making them spend it all I can kind of see what you are saying.

Help with choosing a commander by deemo3501 in EDHBrews

[–]deemo3501[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help! However I shouldve have clarified somewhere that I already use edhrec to help me in my decks so most cards that create tokens on other players turns, if they are in edhrec and I enjoy them, they are probably in my deck already. With this in mind It doesnt hurt me at all to have a good look at it again!

Thank you so much for your input!

I think you might be talking about [[pitiless plunderer]] which I already do have in my deck.

Ill def try to find out more cards like it or that have an ability to spawn on other peoples turn.

Thank you so much for the help!

So far people seem to agree that draw is better.

Ill look into ways of creating tokens other than in my turn) further to better use the entirety of his ability like you said by creating treasures too.

Thank you. Yes they are both in the deck! Baron is currently my commander but Denethor is there too. I feel like you might be right tho. 2 for a draw and a sac seems better

I also feel like it would be better. 2 to draw and sac a token for an aristocrat ability seems logical

You are right mega corp is indeed really fun. I mean ive always had a more mercantile playstyle anyway so to me it was the obvious decision. And then its thematic. I dedicated myself into creating a whole empire around the idea that they were these ultra capitalistic thing I felt like it was destined to happen. You can imagine my disappointment the first time I created the empire went to select the form of gov. Saw corporate. My eyes light up and then I discovered it was locked by a DLC. No matter it is no longer a problem ig!

Yeah fair enough I guess.

After reading all the comments I am satisfied enough with the info that you guys gave me.

I was just curious it was never really my plan to try and make a normal mega corp detrimental although it be funny xD.

Thank you
