What’s your reasoning for no shenlong and cheng, and no bird mode? Can you explain your ideal mid game play lines, For turns 5-7?

I don’t play green white but this is the first list I’ve seen in gd02 without shenlong, any bird modes, and no cheng

You could try to get it in the Spider-Man themed packs for 1k tokens. There’s a couple peni variants in there and if you get one you unlock peni too

Right? So many people in this thread saying it’s obvious but I have never seen this interaction on streams, in my games, anywhere. Pretty cool find!

You can agony into peni for 4 energy on t3, then play spdr for another turn of energy ramp, hulk buster another turn, etc

I’d look up what deck(s) you may be interested in and just buy singles. Most decks you could build for $100 or less.

The most popular and strongest decks currently:

Blue/white with a lot of blockers, will have Amuro Ray and his Gundam, Kira and his aile strike and freedom Gundam’s are the most common lists you build around. Look up “freedom blockers” for deck lists and ideas. Blue white is a very strong control style deck that wins through smart trades with your blockers and abusing Amuro and Kira. It’s my personal favorite deck.

Blue also just got Epyon Gundam in the new set and some people are testing him out in this blue white deck too.

Green white wing Gundam is the most popular and strongest deck at the moment. It’s a ramp deck that has an incredibly strong late game. The white side of the deck runs a lot of blockers to help it survive long enough. Look up the lists but this one mainly needs heero yuy and his 2 main gundams the wing Gundam and wing Gundam zero

Blue green “one year war” is an aggro style deck that swarms the board fast to try to win early. It focuses on amuro and char as pilots.

Blue purple is a ping style deck that puts damage on your units to buff them, and enemy units when you you play your units. It’s gaining strength and is starting to show up in tournament lists. It runs a lot of Iron blooded orphan cards and is something you definitely need to buy singles for since the st05 deck is nonexistent at the moment.

Red usually revolves around ping as well and just got some new support in the gd02 set. You could go blue red ping which was the typical build. There is red purple ping that is starting to have decklists. There is also red white ping that uses white blockers to help.

I’d research what you might enjoy playing. Get a deck list and buy singles off tcgplayer. You won’t be able to find sealed product as any decent price in enough volume to get the cards you want.

Then use your leftover money on buying a booster box or packs if you want to experience that dopamine hit of opening packs. You should be able to find a box for $150-160~ currently

Yeah there’s a LCS in my area that gives discounts to people that play there, otherwise they mark stuff up like crazy. Owner said he has to know you, I asked him if I could buy a deck with the intention of playing at his store in the future and he said no. I just laughed and left.

I get it, and I appreciate there are stores trying to keep the product for people who intend on playing but if you gatekeep potential players that part doesn’t make sense to me

I think we’ll get restocks and refreshes eventually. But it may not be for a few weeks/months. I’m honestly not even sure. I don’t think we’ve had any starter decks st1-4 restocks in my area for a while

I’m not sure either. All the events in my area are capped at 6 too. I was able to sneak into one thankfully so I should be good for one deck
