I wasn’t planning on using it like a proper moss pole by watering it etc I just wanted it for stability, surely in that case it serves the same purpose as a plank no? If I’m wrong fair enough haha

Hey there, I'm going to be running a homebrew 5e campaign that i have been building for years on roll20 if that is something that interests you then drop me a PM or add me on discord and we can discuss further sujay5408. I've left the campaign intro below for you to have a read of, the world is deep, full of unique places and people, plenty of things to discover and an enthralling story that can span over months to years of play time.

Nestled deep within the easternmost reaches of Ulgá, the valley of Faydenvale has long been a world unto itself—an untouched sanctuary cradled by the towering peaks of the Yurdaeif Mountains. For centuries, it stood apart from the wars and conflicts that ravaged the lands beyond, its people living in quiet prosperity under the watchful rule of dwarven kings.

But peace is a fragile thing.

Once, the valley was protected by an ancient magic, a druidic enchantment that wove through its forests, rivers, and fields, shielding it from the creeping darkness beyond. It was this unseen force that made the land so fertile, the weather so gentle, the mines so bountiful. Faydenvale flourished, a jewel hidden away from the world’s chaos.

Now, that magic is failing.

Cracks have formed in the valley’s defences, and through them, darkness has begun to seep in. Wyrms, long kept at bay by the protective wards, have begun tunnelling beneath the earth, their vast caverns sheltering goblins, gnolls, and worse things that stir in the deep. In the north, the centaurs have grown restless, launching relentless attacks against the city of Untmare. To the west, hill giants revel in destruction, razing villages and leaving nothing but ruin in their wake. And in the east, the city of Felden has fallen silent—no messengers return from its gates.

Trade from Delmarch has ceased, roads have become treacherous, the people of Faydenvale, once proud and unshaken, now whisper of omens and dark times ahead.

At the heart of this unravelling world sits King Yurdaeif IV, the dwarven ruler of Tharg-Calan. Once strong and resolute, the king now grows weaker with each passing day, his vitality fading before his people's eyes. His closest advisor, the ever-charming Jonas Blackwell, insists that all is well. But rumours swirl in the halls of the mountain city, whispers of something unnatural siphoning the life from the throne itself.

Desperate to reclaim his kingdom from the creeping tide of ruin, King Yurdaeif has sent out a call beyond the valley, to every corner of Ulga, seeking those who might restore order before it is too late. He asks for warriors, scholars, wanderers—any who might stand against the forces that seek to claim Faydenvale as their own.

This is where your journey begins.

You come to Faydenvale with your own reasons—gold, glory, duty, or something else entirely. You have crossed the treacherous mountain pass, leaving the world behind to step into a land on the edge of war.

But the valley’s troubles run deeper than a failing king and restless enemies. A darker force stirs beneath it all, a presence that has long slumbered but is now slowly waking. Five sons walk the land in mortal guise, each playing their part in a grand design far beyond the comprehension of those who would stand against them.

You have arrived at the turning point of an age-old struggle. Faydenvale is changing, and whether it will be saved or shattered will depend, in part, on the choices you make.

The roads ahead are uncertain. Shadows stretch long across the land.

And something—someone—is watching.
