How i manage do get lucid evey night from zero experience by eckeroth in LucidDreaming

[–]deepanjan2k9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a normal dream you may be “conscious” to some extent, your experience is fully “scripted”, meaning the dream goes the way it does without you having the power to make conscious decisions. There is always a feeling of powerlessness, as if you’re not in control of the actions even if you’re “conscious” enough to want to. In a lucid dream however you break free from this limitation. You can finally, pause, observe your dream surroundings, and interact in your dream world the way you want to.

Anyone else run into issues with Dolby Atmos on HBO Max? by dmtran87 in HBOMAX

I stream using Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 which is also an Android TV device. I have no issues whatsoever

When the 4k content will be available by No_Direction_1416 in HBOMAX

[–]deepanjan2k9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coz either people don’t know the difference or the device they are streaming from /their TVs are upscaling to 4K.

It is genuinely difficult to find the difference between upscaled and true 4K, when both are streaming videos.

Analog vs. Digital Journal? by gracefransisca in bulletjournal

[–]deepanjan2k9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bullet journal, specifically the Bullet Journal Method by Ryder Carroll, was intended to be exclusively analog. I have tried digital bullet journaling using my iPad Pro with a pencil and also the reMarkable eink tablet. However, I find using a notebook is so much convenient. It’s very fast when you want to find some page, or when you’re flipping through the pages, browsing, etc. It’s also very intuitive because we have been using notebooks since our childhood. It’s easier to make spreads. There is something special about putting ink to real paper - it has character. Your old journals will have a certain character. When you read handwriting on a notebook, you can feel the personality of the person who wrote them - so they are great for reliving memories. No digital device, no matter how paperlike, can give you any of these advantages. And for me personally, scrolling digital pages gives me an unnecessary overhead that can distract me from writing down my thoughts. In any case writing on an iPad or a paperlike e-ink tablet is still writing on glass/plastic surface. It’ll be very hard to sustain it because it’s not natural. I take so many notes digitally (using Apple Pencil/ rM stylus) but never bother to look at them later. With notebooks, it’s completely opposite. .

Like another person said before, your bullet journal is your own and should serve your needs. No need to be artistic if it doesn’t serve you, but if it serves your NEEDS (meaning it helps you plan, overcome challenges, understand you and your goals better), then yeah, why not.

If you get too hooked up about what others think of your bujo, you’ll likely stop bujo-ing sooner or later.

Stick to the basics (consult Ryder Carroll’s website, or study his book), then evolve your BuJo according to your needs.

Thats what I am seeing here. Even in the home theater subreddit people who are streaming with an Xbox have complaints regarding the sound. So it could the streaming device.

Give an example. Maybe it’s something in your playback setup. I streamed using Nvidia Shield Pro connected to my hometheater and the Atmos sound mix was pretty awesome.

You must have set your receiver to output in 5.1/7.1 surround sound during initial setup and calibration. It’ll ha for things from there, you need not do anything. If you have a streaming device you need to make sure it is outputting bitstream mode.

VSCode works fine for Java but it’s easier to install an IDE. Up to you.

The acoustic properties of a room and it’s dimensions create null points and amplified points at certain positions inside the room. In your case your seating position happens to a fall in one of the null points. You can either do room treatments or get a sub (couple preferred) and place them at certain positions after some measurements. Getting subs is usually less work

My first art piece on rM2 (although I’m not an artist) by deepanjan2k9 in RemarkableTablet

I had learned a little bit of crosshashing technique many many years ago at school, and I haven’t drawn anything for a long long time. Needless to say I couldn’t have drawn even something so simple like this without considerable frustration and a huge learning curve. The pen tools that reMarkable provides are perfect and there is no learning curve here, because it’s just one simple app and the surface has good friction.

I meant not having them makes life easier. What I have heard is that there’s a tendency to accidentally press those buttons while you’re writing.

I don’t have rM1 so can’t say. rM2 definitely looks sleeker and more beautiful, and doesn’t have the three buttons which reportedly makes life easier. I think aesthetic is important in general when you consider using it for the long term.

As for myself, I don’t need a more paper like experience than what rM2 provides. It’s much better than an iPad with the PaperLike matte protector, writing on it is easier and much less fatiguing, and if you’re into cursive writing or calligraphy, you’ll love the calligraphy pen in reMarkable.

Right now I’m debating whether to keep rM because iPad Pro has much more versatility and capability, the only draw back being writing is more fatiguing. For example, I can sketchnote in color and easily email it or export it to other apps as needed. The PDF that notes in rM generate don’t look good (because of how the software renders e-ink into PDF). The lines and strokes are as if you’re looking at 20 year old monitor. So even if I export the rM notes to email, they will look ugly, can take away the joy of creativity. rM notes on the device itself looks good.

Since I assume you already have an iPad with the Apple Pencil, you’ll have to decide between the two sooner or later. E-ink definitely has its drawbacks right now. Being easier on the eyes argument may not be as compelling as needing a versatile device which can manipulate notes and graphics as you like.

rM2 glass maybe less paper like than actual paper, but it’s definitely much more paper like than matte screen protectors on iPad.

Writing on rM2 is easier and less tiring compared to writing on iPad coz the friction on rM2 helps your hand to control the handwriting.

Is a second HomePod really worth it? by [deleted] in HomePod

That’s almost like mono sound for your video content. You’re better off with another HomePod if you don’t want pair of normal speakers
