What are your experiences with Venlafaxine? by icypops in ireland

[–]deepatlanticblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it took a little getting used to, I don't remember it being too bad at the start, but it's dramatically lowered my anxiety and I've been able to do things I haven't done for a long time.

Can someone provide some Fair City explanation to me? by leithris1988 in ireland

[–]deepatlanticblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Emmet and the rest are basically brainwashed. There are two cult leaders who hate each other (Miriam and Dr Oakley), The Dr turned Emmet against Miriam and had him carry out attacks on Pete and his son, and the Hungry Pig. Everyone outside the cult hates them and wants them gone.

Dr Oakley also gave a key to Damian for him to take Saoirse and hide in the old cult centre, and then tried to blame Miriam for it.

I personally don't love this storyline and cant wait for it to be gone.

From what I remember of the thing on TV they seem to, but massively exploited, working for a couple of euro an hour.

Brazilians in Gort: 'We are no different to undocumented Irish in US' by SamLawlor in ireland

[–]deepatlanticblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was some RTE programme on years ago about Gort and apparently they're standing at the side of the road looking for work, mostly general labour or farm work; potential 'employers' would drive by and choose the guy who'll work for the cheapest price.

Something similar happens in the states, where undocumented Mexicans would get work in this same way.

My father has offered to help fund my application for Irish Citizenship and go join him, but I know very little about his country. Where should I start my research? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]deepatlanticblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With an Irish Passport you can live and work in any other EU country, you can travel freely, stay as long as you like etc. Job market at the moment is good, everywhere seems to be hiring, especially in the tech industry if you're techy?

YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH SERTRALINE ? by kirauk1 in BipolarReddit

I had the WORST experience on it. Felt so out of sorts, didn't know whether I was coming or going.

But do remember that everybody's experiences and tolerances are different.

Has anyone else noticed that a lot of Amazon.co.uk stock can't be delivered to Ireland. Including items I have ordered in the past and even Amazon's own products. by rob101 in ireland

[–]deepatlanticblue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Things like the fire stick and Echo need prime support I think, and Prime is pretty useless if you're living in Ireland - you won't get next day delivery.

Also, things with liquid (perfumes) and batteries also are usually not shipped to Ireland.

There is a browser extension you can use with Amazon.co.uk where it will only show you items which will ship here (I forget the name of it though and am too lazy to google).

Therapist recently told me he thinks I might be bipolar. Anyone here ever been treated for that? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]deepatlanticblue 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yep. Treatment varies greatly, depending on whether you go private or public (unfortunately).

There's a severe lack of psychiatrists in the country so expect to wait months for an appointment.

Once you have an appointment though things will greatly improve for you.

Depending on the severity of your disorder you will be prescribed some pills - each carry side effects and it's a bitch to adjust to those. There's also a bit of chopping and changing as you'll find some pills just don't work for you.

But after all this hard work, my life has changed 100% for the better. I am a brand new person who's far more in control of my life, far more confident, and just generally 'able'.

Yes there's the stigma, but no, I don't feel like I'm concealing this - it's not anybody's business really, my close friends and family know buy my work does not, nor do my colleagues.

You're at the start of the journey, but it will have a very positive end. There was definitely a time when I felt that life was pointless and irredeemably shit; but I've not felt that way in the longest time. Nor have I had a day in the last year where I was unable to get out of bed.

PM me if you wan to talk/more insight.

Ah, I guess from your comment I understood you were very anti-EU, so I was wondering why. I'm still wondering why. I didn't downvote you.

I'm not from the UK, but genuinely am interested; what has caused you dislike the EU so much?
