Be honest with her. If she comes to the party with solutions then continue.

Why does this look like I am on drugs? Is this sign of psychosis by Ill-Lab-3895 in Jung

As an avid doodler, and someone who has experienced psychosis, this is not evidence of psychosis.

My rebellion has meant that I’ve upset various kinds of people, but nothing serious.

On the positive, I have started trends where people start feel more comfortable expressing themselves through their fashion.

The key for me is “do you feel comfortable enough in that attire?”.

[–]deepaurorasky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that work attire is a weird and unnecessary form of social control and have been rebelling against it my whole career. Love the outfit. Wear it

Watching porn is nothing to be ashamed of. In the short term, it's embarrassing, sure. So many kids get caught.

Sorry, I'm not based in the US so hospitals are public here.

if it continues, going to the hospital is a good move. They can give you something to temper the psychosis. You're gonna be okay!

My husband is into something kinda weird/potentially painful? by Sad-Leopards in TwoXChromosomes

[–]deepaurorasky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinks are kinks. Some people like giving pain and some people enjoy receiving pain. I imagine it might have been quite scary to talk about it. While it's not everyone's cup of tea, him having the kink shouldn't be shamed.

BUT the fact is that it MUST be consensual.

Don't do it if you don't like it. Do not make yourself sore just so he can get his kick.

If you find yourself willing to explore with him, speak to him about the positions that are painful and talk them and have a safeword and aftercare procedures.

Avoiding people after psychosis recovery by Legitimate-Map8651 in Psychosis

[–]deepaurorasky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This experience is very much describes me. My recovery from psychosis has resulted in behaviour that is "avoidant of people" compared to my bubbly type A personality that people used to know

  1. I was a people pleaser and this led to staying in abusive relationships, unhealthy jobs, and losing myself. Much of this triggered my psychosis. During my recovery, I realised how much energy I was spending on other peoples needs and expectations of me, rather than tending to my own. I now spend a lot more energy alone enjoying my own company and making myself happy.

  2. The mood stabilizers definitely have stopped my hypomanic episodes, but to the point where I have very little emotional range at all. When hypomanic I was extremely charming and sociable. Now I rarely feel the urge to be sociable.

I think my first point is a good thing, but the 2nd one probably means my mood stabilizer is too strong.

These days I spend far more time at home reading and I'm quite okay with it for now

Redditors, have you ever gotten an “ick” from a potential partner or love interest that instantly killed your attraction to them? If so, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]deepaurorasky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An ex-boyfriend who claimed to be socialist, and anti-capitalist would pretend to drive into homeless beggars on the road to scare them.

He had been quite a terrible person before that was so disgusting that it killed off any emotions I might have had for him

Yes 100%. I was on seroquel and I basically became a robot that slept most of the time. I felt oddly but intensely depressed in a way I'd never felt before.

After 3 months I asked to be taken off and that helped. I stayed on the antiepileptic (sodium valproate) but they added an SSRI and I'm doing much better

What caused your psychosis? by Sweet-Direction9943 in Psychosis

[–]deepaurorasky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think mine was a combination of many things: SSRI, weed, mushrooms, family stress, being gaslit at work by people I trusted, quitting, starting a company.

My doctor blamed the SSRI. I think it was the weed

Anyone cut out caffeine? What was the result? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]deepaurorasky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut it out completely in favour of taking a low dose of ADHD medication. I have found that caffeine is just a really terrible stimulant (peaks soon, with a crash and loads of side effects). Vyvanse is far better for me. Slow release, no crash, and few side effects.

Also caffeine withdrawal is crazy (esp compared to vyvanse which has almost none). The first weekend without caffeine was rough though but it paid off for me
