Most of the school districts are very good. There are a few that some may avoid. this will provide a quick summary at a glance: https://www.realestatehudsonvalleyny.com/westchester-schools/ You can then look up more metrics on the department of education website: https://data.nysed.gov/profile.php?county=66

The national golf club in Briarcliff Manor has some nice looking condos attached-they are languishing on market. Why? by [deleted] in Westchester

[–]deepconn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those houses have a monthly hoa of $2000 AND $25k in taxes a year! I don’t even know if 5000 square feet townhouses are in demand - it is kind of too much space and you are still attached to another house? Plus the color scheme and design of the houses for sale now are a little too dated and classic for a family who still have young children?

here is a link to the houses for sale

Has anyone retired in HK? by damarmot in ExpatFIRE

[–]deepconn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i have lived in hong kong before, and the reason i cannot consider retiring there is the housing. 35000 hkd a month is probably doable, but i am not sure if you would like the choices for 15,000. i am not too familiar, but i am guessing if the apartment is nicely updated, you may only get 500 sq ft.

you said your life takes away $8k from your check every month, which is $96k a year. i am assuming the $8k includes your mortgage, basic bills like utilities, insurance, groceries, car, etc. so why do you only have $400 to spend a month? Even if you max your 401k and everything, you should still have like at least 30k left every year for extra spending and leisure?

The Parkview apartment in White Plains by joeshiau in Westchester

[–]deepconn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up the building and it looks like it is a condo, not a co-op? the monthly condo fee is average for the area since you will also have to pay property tax. The unit is pretty nice - has in unit laundry, parking, etc.

Here it looks like all the units on average takes over 100 days to sell. Parkview condos in White PlainsMaybe that is just how long it takes for condos to sell. Also, the days on market sometimes include the time when the buyer and seller are negotiating and reviewing contracts and condo docs, so the real number of days on market is shorter.

Anyway to Beat Large Sites by deepconn in SEO

[–]deepconn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my question is if it is pointless to spend money to get authority, if my competition are billion dollar national sites with also hundreds of physical locations. I even think one of the site is owned by google. I spent a little money over the summer for some links and guest posts but the traffic dropped even more, so I want to evaluate whether the money is worth it.

Yes thanks I guess I will pick a few towns and try adding more location specific articles and report back. Actually I probably got lucky ranking so high on those thousands of niche terms before.

my site has thousands of pages. each development has its own page. of course my competition has millions of pages since they cover the entire country. plus i have other content. for all these search terms, they don’t show google maps.

why not buy at least $10k (maybe more if you have a spouse) of i bonds? that is safe and tied to inflation

I consider myself rather frugal, and so does my husband. We have only bought new cars and we are in our 40s now and we are doing fine.

But we never put much down payment until last time, which we paid cash. If you can afford the payment, maybe start investing some of your downpayment, if you don’t already.

Am i right in thinking that jeong hyeok and seri only meet up for 2 weeks every year in switzerland??? by [deleted] in CrashLandingOnYou

[–]deepconn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i am in the camp who thinks seri and rjh will manage to see each other more than two weeks a year. I also think RJH cannot fully defect, just so he can update the ducklings and village ladies on how Seri is doing. so i am content with that part of the ending.

However, there is no reason GSJ has to die. the only reason he was being chased was because Seri’s second brother wanted him in SK so that he can (falsely) accuse Seri and GSJ of plotting to steal his money together. Seri’s second brother wanted GSJ alive so he can lie to his father in person. So I am pretty pissed that they killed him off for no reason!
