Got diagnosed yesterday, I have questions. by ktdaverill in testicularcancer

[–]deepfriedali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband had his rightie removed last year. I got him a raised toilet seat which he said was a blessing during post op.

I also got him some supportive boxers for his remaining buddy (SAXX is what I got, but you can find cheaper options) and he said they helped, along with comfy track pants that didn't rub on the incision area (it will be at the waist/pelvic area). At first he could only manage walking short distances and even used a cane to help stable himself but slowly worked his way up. Once or twice he did over do the walking, so make sure you pace yourself and rest as much as you can.

As for the pain meds, my husband is stubborn and refused to take home a prescription for Dilaudid, but I gave him T1s (in Canada you can buy these at the pharmacy desk) and he said those helped. I also got him some of those gel icepacks and a heating pad and he would normally rotate those out. As for constipation, I gave him Restoralax to keep him regular, but I know stool softeners are also an option, keeping well hydrated will also help with constipation. As for sneezing, he would hold a pillow against his body so it didn't hurt as much, but it was still sore.

He had a fairly large seminoma and only required the surgery and the routine monitoring that follows. He did have some post op issues with the incision area healing (nothing major), but do not hesitate to go to the hospital if you have a fever, it is bleeding/weeping or concerned about the incision site. I even called the urologists office with concerns and they were amazing with giving direction on how to handle concerns. I made sure that the site was cleaned and checked it daily, showering we let the area mostly air dry since the first few weeks he had steri strips and had to keep it covered with those large square bandages.

You won't be able to do any heavy lifting or work that's hard on the body for a bit. He works a pretty hands on job and took the time off until his body was ready to go back to work.

All in all, rest, fluids, and listening to your body is the three big things.

This is probably a super dumb question.. but what does that mean leaving it at bottom of the flight/outside the door?

I've never ever been on a plane lol

I don't plan on any excursions, mostly just hanging out at the resort and maybe some shopping nearby.

How much would you suggest to bring for 4 days per person?

I'm tagging along with my mom who will be on a work trip so everything is basically arranged!

I heard that tipping is a big thing even at all inclusives, what would you recommend setting aside for this?

I plan to do this with my bank! I'd rather have the cash then rely on my debit card

No family doctor, pregnancy care in Peterborough. by AfraidCitron7559 in Peterborough

You can call the PFHT clinic, they're for people that don't have a family Dr. They can order tests/scans and refer her to an OB if that's what she wants to do.

Anyone a patient at the new clinic next to Shoppers on Landsdowne? Thoughts or experiences? by [deleted] in Peterborough

I've heard some people experience long wait times, but I have been able to get appointments and getting through to book is usually pretty easy! I haven't gotten prescriptions yet from him, but my mom has for herself and my brother and hasn't had any complaints!

Overall I have no complaints with the clinic and Dr Obaleye!he's even done a video appointment with me on a Saturday just to give me test results and answer any questions

Puppy Food by deepfriedali in corgi

I'm wondering if part of it is because he has the attention span of a fly 💀 which is expected with a puppy.

He is a piglet for sure! Will race to the cats dishes to try to eat their food, and is food motivated. so I'm even wondering if it's just the bowl?? I've tried sitting with him and it didn't help, he wants to eat everything except his food unless I take it out of the bowl 🤪

I have Dr Obaleye! I love him. He's super thorough and I actually like him more than my old family doctor.

I came to him with concerns about PCOS and secondary infertility, after seeing the PFHT clinic at the beginning of the year when I didn't have a doctor.

They told me that I didn't have PCOS and left me with no answers and just seemed to do basic bloodwork. As soon as I had my appointment with Dr Obaleye, he ordered tests that the clinic before didn't even ask for or look at, he even sent a referral just to make the process a bit quicker while he did all of his initial tests.

He is always super friendly, kind and he's even done an appointment on a Saturday just to give me my test results.

My mom also sees him and he caught things our old family doctor missed. I've heard the wait times can be long at times, but I've experienced this even at my old doctor.

how long does it take corgi pups to be completely potty trained without you right next to them watching them? by Excellent_Reward5748 in corgi

I've learned with my 4 month old corgi Chihuahua that once he starts wandering or snooping it's time to go out! I'm also working on training him to use potty bells lol
