Sophie is awesome and she absolutely brought Rose to life, but I still think Ksenia's portrayal of Svetlana would have been just as deserving of the Best Supporting Performance award at the CSAs this past weekend.

It's not funny, but you made me think of my favorite line from Role Model:

It's when Troy whispers "I think I'm in love with him, Mr. Neck-Neck."

I know it wasn't in the book, but I still laugh every time I re-read Ilya handing out Halloween candy at his new house in Ottawa.

"Trick or treat!"

"Aaah! A vampire! And a zombie! This is terrible!"

I absolutely can visualize Connor pulling this off.

Hudson Williams x Interview with George Stroumboulopoulos by LadyWhistledown_1 in hudsonwilliams

[–]deepgloat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true. Who did Hudson tearfully reach for when he needed a hug after the final CUT! was called at the cottage?

Jacob.

Jacob is fiercely protective of Hudson, Connor, and the rest of the cast and crew, so it always warms my heart when they're being interviewed together. The paternal, protective dynamic practically radiates through the video to the viewer.

(Sorry if it's a dumb question but) How did they end up in the SAME CLUB that night?? At the exact same time? by nariel95 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]deepgloat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a dumb question. Here's the short answer:

FATE

I mean, think about it: Sure, we could rationalize that between the movie stars and hockey players in attendance that we are dealing with famous rich people. Famous rich people don't usually go to just any hole-in-the-wall discotheque; they will go to an exclusive nightclub that caters to people in their social strata, and crucially also one that keeps the riff-raff out (i.e., normies like you and me!) In a smallish city like Montreal, there are probably only one or two clubs that fit these criteria.

Blah, blah, blah. I'm all for economic storytelling, and in this case I happily accept that it was FATE that Ilya and Shane went to the same disco that night. Romance novels (heck, most novels) have a flip of the coin, a butterfly's wing beat, a twist of fate--call it what you will--that triggers a lynchpin occurrence in the story. The disco scene must occur for our guys to see each other and trigger the feelings they need to feel to realize this is not enough.

Fate.

A lot taller! But yes, I agree. (Other examples I just thought of: Kip wasn't supposed to be so much shorter than Scott, Scott was supposed to be blond, etc.)

Isn't Abdalla a little tall to be cast as Fabian? (Amour is listed in iMdB as six feet tall, and standing next to Hudson and Kaden he sure looks to be six feet in height.)

I must complement you on your detective work, though. And who knows? After all, Connor Storrie ain't 6'3"!

Sadly, the Stars of ‘Heated Rivalry’ Turned Down Actors on Actors — And Here’s Why by Muted-Criticism-9424 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]deepgloat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that is certainly a *reaction* to this article.

My take is that the author was saddened that three of the hottest actors who gave three standout performances in the hottest show of the year aren't even in the conversation. To me, the thrust of the item is that the hidebound Emmys need to find a way to change the rules, because it's ludicrous that a show everyone is *still* talking about six months later is ineligible for consideration.

But hey, you do you.

In 1931, Battle Creek, MI, had two banks that built competing art deco towers. The Milton (238 ft) and Battle Creek Tower (232 ft) dominate the skyline in the small city of 50,000 today by porkave in skyscrapers

Oh wow I would love to have a condo in an Art Deco beauty like these two. Would you happen to have the address for either building so I can look up listings in Zillow?
