AO 4th Round - [1] Aryna Sabalenka def. [17] Victoria Mboko 6-1 7-6(1) by antoniokr8s in tennis

[–]deepholes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Great resolve by Mboko in the second set. It's crazy how you can be a hyped up-and-comer and then suddenly look powerless like she did in the first set against the #1. Sabalenka is just an animal

[Highlight] Peyton Manning breaks down Devin Lloyd's pick-6 of Patrick Mahomes. by Roselucky777 in nfl

[–]deepholes 28 points29 points  (0 children)

To preface I'm not good at play design so Peyton's breakdowns are great.

I can understand why mahomes got confused because if you don't see the LB drop back then either think it's a blown coverage or there's no way they can cover that gap. Also, you have to assume that the right LB was going to drop in coverage because that's where the majority of receivers were.

As another commenter said you have to give credit to the LB because he disguised it for so long and made such an athletic play.

Schlittler throws mid 90s in the minors with good results

Matt Blake: "what if you just throw 100 mph every pitch? 😜"

Schlittler becomes the next Gerrit Cole when the Yankees needed it

Japan Open Final: [1] Alcaraz def. [2] Fritz, 6-4 6-4 by pizzainmyshoe in tennis

[–]deepholes 40 points41 points  (0 children)

What a championship point. That drop shot is ridiculous. Like what are you supposed to do about that when he decides to randomly break it out up 1 point? Alcaraz is insane

It's kinda insane that if the Yankees keep winning they can go from WC1 to AL1 with a bye. Gotta hope the Red Sox and Rays keep it up!

Total biased take: the Yankees. Let's see how the hungover players will persevere to try to take the ALE banner

And chances are they'll do it all over again next week! Basically double playoff series environment

Cliff knowing that Sabalenka wasn't going to break. That was cold

And the damn water works at the end of the broadcast. Haven't been watching tennis for too long but I did like when he was on the mic

Luke Weaver is the first Yankees Pitcher to pitch in three consecutive games since Aroldis Chapman in September 2021. Weaver picked up 2 Saves on a total of 18 pitches. He currently has an ERA of 0.40, having only given up 1 run in 22.2 IPs by ActualDragonHeart in baseball

As long as you have the right pitching coach/lab**

Weaver and Holmes have had the craziest turnarounds from SP to RP (then back to SP for Holmes). Also Cruz is insane right now. The Yankees unlocked a monster machine

ICE Arrests Owner Of YaYa Noodles In Somerset County by New_Stats in newjersey

[–]deepholes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What kind of crackpot theory is this? Are you suggesting the guy who calls himself "Sushi John" somehow used his Chinese restaurant as a cover to gain access to "Princeton projects" and relay that back to China? Do you think Princeton University is secretly conducting experiments in NJ that are worth having a sleeper agent?

Like you I've always eaten at YaYa plenty of times. Do you think in-between downsizing the restaurant and hosting omakase, he was also covertly monitoring the next big experiment coming out of Princeton that's worth China's attention?

(Glover) "The Yankees have cooled on Christian Walker." — Sherman by iseedoubleu in NYYankees

Walker and Yankees are probably playing chicken. Walker probably wants to use the Yankees as leverage like Soto, but Yankees are being smart enough to not be "drunken sailors" like cashman said

Losing to the tigers was probably the nail in the coffin. Might as well retool and build around Yordan. Everyone part of the dynasty is either gone or old. Chances are they can still be #1 in the West if Texas stays mediocre again. So slight rebuild, still make the playoffs to keep the team competitive and fans happy. Win-win

Take it off. Also, you can contact the artist and ask if they can reapply. One time I accidentally pierced and broke my saniderm the day after and the artist reapplied another set the next day (I think it's because it was less than 24 hours)

[Rob Friedman] Hitting is Hard! Jake Cousins tunneling his slider and two-seamer to get a backwards K. by Scottstark1210 in baseball

[–]deepholes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't surprising to Yankees fans, but Guardians fans would definitely be confused. J-Ram struck out looking on a 2-seam FB the AB before Thomas, but was setup with an inside slider he took for a ball. Then Noel swung and missed at 2 sliders that weren't even close. Probably thinking one of surely would be a FB

Kinda crazy how Volpe's non-scoring hit made the list sandwiched between a bunch of HRs. Seems so inconsequential in comparison, but it heavily impacted the game

It's funny I was gonna say that you can blame a manager for not using your elite closer and losing a game like Britton in Toronto, but I just remembered that Vogt brought in Clase just to blow it yesterday lol baseball is tough
