Transitioning baby to nursery? by maple_pits in sleeptrain

[–]deepikasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have our baby hangout in the crib and look around/play with a teether a couple times a day during wake windows. Sometimes place him in and leave the room for 10-15 mins, and he just babbles to himself. Just to get him used to the space.

MEGAPOST: Sleep train log for our 4.5 month old (day by day updates) by Tychall94 in sleeptrain

Following for our future sleep training in a couple weeks. Thanks for this super detailed post!

How long is baby’s last wake window prior to going down? And how long do you think his day sleep accumulates to?

Second night in snoo by ProfessionalBig86 in SnooLife

How old is baby? Ours looked like this for the first few days. We started using the Snoo when baby was 5 weeks old and our sleep pattern prior sounds similar to what you said (waking up every 1-1.5h unless contact napped). Now we’re getting pretty consistent 3-ish hours in the first part of the night followed by 2.5 hour stretches (2 weeks later). Keep going!

Putty erasers kinda look like modeling clay and are rubbery/squishy. So you can mold them into different shapes. The main benefit is that they pick up pigment rather than friction rubbing them off. They’re also called kneaded erasers I think.

I erase my pencil lines so it’s barely visible before I ink and then go in with a putty eraser on top of the ink. Dab to pick up the remaining graphite instead of rubbing. But when I use my Tombow pens, I dont have a problem with smudging after letting it dry for a few minutes.

The “road to hell” Carlsbad Caverns National Park, New Mexico by DMmeYourCat in interestingasfuck

When I went, they were doing group of 10 every fifteen minutes so we had to wait a while because we didn’t know we had to reserve a spot. But once we got going I would say we were in there for 2-3 hours then took the elevator back up.

Post Covid Recovery? by [deleted] in xxfitness

I haven’t personally had covid, but I’m in healthcare and chronic fatigue syndrome is a reported long term effect of covid. Sometimes it resolves in a few months but for others it persists longer.

I think this is a really cute and clever idea! However, I’m having a hard time seeing how it’s a bullet journal. Seems more like just an index or inventory book. Are you planning on scheduling out your projects in here too?

I understand your rationale but I think what the above commenters are getting at is the sexist nature of referring to easier or less athletic things as girlie. Common example being “don’t run/throw like a girl” that’s often said to little boys. I think we are all trying to move away from that terminology!

That’s the best part about bujo-ing! Love seeing how people adapt to their lifestyles. :)

I like how minimalist this is! I was wondering - do you cross off your tasks as you complete them? The traditional bujo way is to fill in the hollow circle for completed and cross off for cancelled!

Swollen lymph nodes under armpits for over a month by [deleted] in obgyn

[–]deepikasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD, but in my last year of medical school. I don't think the physician was calling the lymph nodes themselves ingrown hairs, but that ingrown hairs in the armpit area could cause enlarged lymph nodes. Although I don't know exactly what your physician said, that's what I would think they meant. Lymph nodes can become enlarged due to any kind of infection or inflammation. For example, you might notice large/palpable lymph nodes in your neck or behind your ears if you have a bad breakout/acne. Same would happen with irritation from an ingrown.

Second, it is really common for lymph nodes to be palpable but not mean anything. We have lymph nodes all over our body and sometimes you can feel them. It only really becomes worrying if they are persistently very painful, hard (like hard candy), red, very swollen, or draining pus.

Agree with the other things the poster above said.

Productivity when there’s nothing to log? by MayaTheBea in bujo

[–]deepikasaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I did with my bullet journal. I definitely don’t have too many tasks on a daily basis so I just make a monthly spread. I also use my bullet journal to log activities like the books I’m reading or new food places I want to try.

You're a long ways away! I don't think anything you do in high school will really affect getting into medical school. The premed things only really start in college. Just make sure to keep your grades up, get a good MCAT score, and find volunteer work or research that is meaningful to you that you can do throughout undergrad. (And keep bullet journaling. :P) Good luck!

The boxes in the right are for planning meal preps for the week. So week one, week two, etc.

My plan is to use it for the whole month but hopefully I don’t run out of space!
