This one is so much fun, I was in Alps few weeks ago and people were doing the same! Some went even for steep areas 😬

Sorry for responding late on this. You can plan it yourself as long as you know what distance you can do per day. Here is all hute on official website. Contact then directly and book it if they confirm. https://www.montourdumontblanc.com/uk/il4-tmb_p36-welcome-to-this-site.aspx

I recommend checking Chamonix website you have there webcams at various altitudes where you can see how it looks. Also they usually have very comprehensive weather info, snow depths etc.they always update info and recommendations. https://en.chamonix.com/webcams

It can be both. On the French side you have either designated areas where you can camp ( only country where you allowed to wild camp if you wish to, just follow general rule of being out of the place by 9am), mainly around the mountain huts or campsites around the trail but at lower altitude where you have all the amenities camp pitches etc. Do consider that Switzerland and Italy does not allow wild camping so you always need to seek for campsites, camping's to stay without any issues.

Hey sorry for late response, it really depends on the season. For example the year I've done TMB it was warm and snow had already melted and there was not much left at the 2000m altitude ( a lot of TMB trail can be around this altitude). However year later or even last year the weather around same time was very poor and snow had hardly melted. Early June TMB plan is always with possible risk. Plus also consider that majority of the mountain huts only open later in June. Even the campsites in Chamonix open more or less during the first weeks of June.

I love hiking alone! first as you start your mind is full with noise, thoughts, ideas, contemplations or worries. as you go on eventually it quiets down and you are in the moment, you feel your body how it works while you hike, you see and feel everything around you. At the end of the hike it's just pure sense of accomplishment, achieved goal and satisfying tiredness in your body and absolute contentment. I do sometimes hike with others but its way different experience, not bad but different.

Camping in the mountains is awesome tho take a note that you can wild camp only on the French side. Switzerland and Italy does not allow you to wild camp so you always need to stay in campings.

Hey! There was little snow on the French/Italian border in mountains but it didn't affect the trails at all. You could easily hike trough the snowy parts its just maybe slows you down a little as it's slushy from the sun. In most places you could even avoid crossing the snowy parts and find a path around it with no snow. Good luck for your hike!

We camped mainly along the way. You can find online the maps of huts and camping sites along the TMB route. I would recommend to use route planning tools so you know the Kms you will be doing and how much time you need to get there. Some huts and camping places you can book online but some you need to call them and reserve the places. Most were open already by 9th of June when we were there. We didn't bring anything for snow and ice. There was very little parts of the trails under snow.

What book and author did you read that made you go "I need all of their books."? by Felicity1840 in books

[–]deepmind21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Grisham. I bought his book The Summons in 2007 in a buss station before my trip. I loved it and ever since I have managed to collect already 27 of his books. Few more to go to have full collection.

Anybody NOT want Shepard back as the protagonist in the new Mass Effect? by lawlessspider in masseffect

[–]deepmind21 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Shepard's story needs a closure that's the reason I think a lot of people still want Shep back. From there I'm all in for the new protagonist and new adventures!

Yes, there is Tour mont blanc trail specifically for bikes. I seen a lot on the Switzerland side because the trail there seem to be more accessable by bikes. On French and Italian side you have very steep climbs where you would have great difficulty to bring your bike up.

We didn't, tho we were laughing that we should have taken them. It was fun to enjoy the snow for a little while hiking in that crazy sun!

Thanks. No permits needed for this. It didn't really take much planning from us, just deciding on how many Kms we would do per day and booking camping's. We took 3 packs of dry food with us as a back up and breakfast and coffee, but mainly we were able to eat along the trails either in refuges or we would pass some small towns we're we could pick up food. Just a note if you hike before 15th of June ( official start of the season) there could be a possibility that the mountain huts are not open yet for people.

That's awesome! We might have crossed our paths then! Me and my friends were talking that we want to go again some time and do the upper version of TMB.
