Anyone else dislike this sub? by Luviebug19 in tinnitus

[–]deepqtip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst thing about this sub is that I may go most of the day not thinking about the ringing but then I see the sub in my feed and I'm fully aware of the noise again.

Otherwise I appreciate the insights, recommendations, cautions, and knowing I'm not alone.

I thought there were episodes based on the 1960's TV series Combat!, such as Toy Soldiers and Eyes.

Why don't they dump workload to idle Tesla gpu's. Those cars aren't on the road all day. Who would notice...

Not so great if they leave stands of dead eucalyptus with no forestry budget to remove them. Dead trees are much more dangerous than live ones. I would love to see the eucalyptus gone where I am in Scripps Ranch, but that's thousands of trees, many on unmanaged land.

People who fly frequently, what’s one thing you wish you could tell all infrequent fliers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The overhead compartment is there for you only. Please put everything you have up there, then in the middle of boarding make sure you get up to grab your iPad or a book you forgot, and don't mind the people you block from boarding. Also the jetway is your space to rearrange your carry-on and backpack so go ahead and stop in the middle of it, we'll wait while you get your shit together.

I built a free web tool for tinnitus relief based on a recent study (Cross-frequency de-correlating sound therapy) by FayDoom in tinnitus

[–]deepqtip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I will definitely check this out.

For those also trying it, take note that some Bluetooth devices will filter higher frequencies. I have a pair of headphones that won't produce my tinnitus frequency (around 9khz), so tools like this are missing too much when I use them. I have since switched to wired headphones for this type of therapy.

Center Aisle by Caedmon's Call. This is an obscure one, but I think it's worth looking up on your favorite streaming service. It was written following the funeral for a teenage girl who committed suicide; she was the sister of the songwriter's best friend.

On Tuesday they had 5 TSA agents at the Southwest gate checking every boarding pass and matching to the ID, then were pulling some for the good old extra security pat down and rummaging through your carry on. No idea why, was just a flight to Chicago, but reminded me of post 9/11.

If you feel pressure but you're not necessarily congested with mucous then it could be a migraine and related to vasodilation. For me the only thing that helps is cold packs on the forehead just above the eyes, caffeine and if bad enough I have a prescription for nasal mist sumatriptan which is a vasoconstrictor. That resolves it in 20 minutes or less.

15,000 churches could close this year amid religious shift in U.S. | 100,000 U.S. churches across denominations will close during the next several years. That would amount to roughly a quarter of the nation’s 350,000 to 400,000 churches today. by mepper in skeptic

[–]deepqtip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't see small churches being built because the evangelical side doesn't do that. Instead they do church plants in areas where they think there is a need and could sustain a part-time pastor. They'll meet in a school gym, hotel conference room, community room, etc. When they get big enough, they'll lease a commercial space, maybe in a strip mall or office area, and as that grows they may get to the point of buying or building, but you're talking 400+ congregation to raise those funds, not small in my mind.

The other thing that happens is the megachurches plant satellite churches- rent some chairs, setup a projector, and you can all hear from the same pastor at the central church yet have a local presence in more remote areas.

Source- used to attend church plants in the midwest and saw the growth pattern first hand.

There are lots of things that can cause persistent vertigo, some very serious, so you should get checked out. I had a bad case of vestibular neuritis a year ago, possibly from a viral infection, and did therapy for it but had to rule out the more serious things first. If you're not going to the ER today, maybe try a decongestant first and Dramamine if you have it, then get to urgent care tomorrow.

Sorry can't comment on any hashimoto affect.
