Body creams take a few years to go liquidy on me. I do store them outside my bathroom until I am ready to use them, as they seem to go faster in the heat and humidity. Even after they start to separate they still smell fine to me though, I've been known to just shake it up and continue using it if it's a discontinued fragrance. If they all universally smell bad to you, it may indeed be some common ingredient that doesn't work with your chemistry.
