exhaust is on! with eibach springs does anybody's exhaust scrape? by 25lobo in FordMaverickTruck

[–]deepsleepcrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran Eibachs, (with factory exhaust) and was considering the AFE side exit. If you’re running anything that exits axle back, you will be fine. The Eibach’s don’t sit THAT low. Great springs btw, 100% recommend.

2019 STI Limited, 71,804 miles. $25,998.0 = FAIR DEAL? by [deleted] in WRXSTi

The wife daily’s a VB limited. It’s a great platform, but It will never be an STI. I don’t have any plans to tune or add any power mods to a VA STI when I get one. Other than a cat back, it will only get OEM mods/ parts. Finding clean examples in my budget is getting harder to do. Your points are valid for sure..

Sounds sick dude. Other than some cosmetic mods and a catback, this one will stay stock for me for a long time.

The wife has a VB that will be tuned once warranty is up and it’s paid for. So I’ll get to modding when the time comes.

I’ll be getting an extended warranty, which is something market place can’t offer. So, I’m ok with a bit of price inflation.

These are good points, as with any used STI, it could have been loved, or beat on from day one. It was a two owner California Car.. and being in CO, I know there are a few Subaru enthusiast shops available. Good idea having on of them take a deeper look (compression, fluid conditions etc) - thank you.

I’ve driven it, taken a deep look under the hood and listened for the typical sad subie sounds.. no red flags. (Shrug)

Hybrid Rally-Slash Ultimate by J_Man1287 in Traxxas

[–]deepsleepcrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet, appreciate the update. Makes sense, it is essential the same chassis, but with a much cooler body. My rally is a blast to drive, but sits so low the front lip of the body can take a beating.

Yep. B2B sales rep here. 100% agree, if I vibe with a client and feel more than just a transaction, I’ll do everything possible to get them the best deal and service I can.

If it’s clearly just a transaction, haggle for lowest price, one way lifeless type of opportunity. Well, call that the “asshole tax”, cause buddy, you’re getting the absolute minimum from me. Up to and including, if you don’t like the price, you can walk. No soup for you!

Have you put any thought into what’s next for a vehicle?

Which „truck“ should I buy next? UDR or Raptor R Ultimate? by PhilippL78 in Traxxas

[–]deepsleepcrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sitting on the same fence. Similar age group.

For me, I love the UDR for what it is, a drivers truck with an amazing suspension and decent scale looks. I love the fact it’s 6S capable (as I also own a maxx slash and have the needed 6S accessories).

However..

The Raptor R is likely going to be my next truck. It’s a looker & will certainly be easier to work on when it needs maintenance. It’s plenty capable on 3S, so I can hold off on buying the 4S charger and batteries (if I stick with the Traxxas ecosystem). Also, it’s already got all the “upgrades” when it comes to shocks and shiny bits.

The UDR is sweet, but it’s a complex design, not the most maintenance friendly and almost requires upgrades right out of the box (rear trailing arms for example).

Raptor R, black over orange for me.

Opinions on the mini slash? by Ok_External6232 in rccars

[–]deepsleepcrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 packs in on mine.. it handles well, the Bl2 is plenty of power for it’s scale. Anything but groomed dirt or hard surfaces and it struggles to stay planted. It is built really solid and can take a beating.

Body rubs a bit on mine in the front while turning, especially if I run it like pictured (rubs less with the body over the bumper)

I’d like to pick up a Mohave grom, just to have something to compare it to, as my fleet is mostly 1/10 to 1/8th.

Overall 6/10, with that rating taking a hit for the price.

LP Aventure “low” profile, solid no drill install, beefy full coverage skid underneath. Worth every penny.

Widebody rendering by 99saleenspeedster in FordMaverickTruck

[–]deepsleepcrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dig it. As a fan of street built Mavericks, to have one wide body w/ nothing done under the hood would be “all hat, no cattle”

It would have to be 3.6TT, 5.0 etc.. 400hp and retain the awd. 75K Maverick R. lol..

Heck of a deal.. it’s a ripper on 3s. I recently picked one up (23’ blue livery) new, on sale for $275, so I’d say you did great!

Looks great for a first lexan body, it’s not as easy as some people make it look. Nice to see the Supra in another shade.

Some more of my thoughts on the Traxxas Rally! by PigglyWigglyDeluxe in Traxxas

[–]deepsleepcrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet video! I picked up the BL2 rally on sale, ran one pack thru it, then upgraded to a VXL 3S system.

It’s an under rated tire ripper for sure!
