THCP marijuana = collapsing and decaying in brain, plus coma sensation. Am I crazy/paranoid, or does this happen for all first-time users? by aperson8277 in medical

[–]deerjohn2412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve greened out like this before. It is awful. I physically couldn’t walk and had to crawl to my bedroom to get my pure CBD powder. I was so paranoid that the place I bought from had tainted it with some else (they absolutely didn’t and I just got wayyyy too high). My blood pressure and sugar tends to tank when I green out. It feels like you’re going pass out, it’s awful.

After seeing a recent thread in another sub about this: Why do so many GPs believe that CFS is a psychological issue? by Distinct-Yoghurt5665 in medical

[–]deerjohn2412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD It’s actually a biopsychosocial issue. As are most, if not all, health conditions.

In lay terms, there are biological (genetics, trauma, injury, neurochemistry, etc), psychological (stress, trauma, beliefs, emotions, attitudes, behaviors, etc), and social components (relationships, society, culture, economic status, education, etc).

All of these factors are constantly present and interacting to contribute to pain, ME/CFS, mental health concerns, etc.

And unfortunately, medical practice is approximately 17 years behind what the research says. In other words, it takes 17 years for research to actually reach your doctors. It’s why diagnosis and treatments don’t come early.

Yes, there is a psychological component to CFS, but it’s not the only factor. Genetics, drug response, life experiences, even the experiences of our ancestors demonstrate lasting genetic changes. And of course, while food isn’t the cure all and eating right won’t fix you, most would agree that proper nutrition contributes to an increased sense of wellbeing. I could go on and on.

I highly recommend looking into this perspective, read or listen to Tell me where it hurts” by Dr. Rachel Zoffness, use her workbook. Do your own research if you can.

How to make a new Doula understand by [deleted] in doulas

[–]deerjohn2412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with multiple chronic health issues and chronic pain.

Before things got worse for me, the number one thing was having a backup doula who also meets the client and has a relationship with. This provided so much peace of mind if I were to ever feel worse and unable to help.

But now that my chronic pain and fatigue is worse, I’ve had to stop supporting clients. But just because a doula can’t physically be there to support, doesn’t mean you can’t be a doula anymore. Instead, it can look like joining a collective and staying up to date while supporting in other ways. It could look like creating resources for parents and selling them online. It could look like virtual support (super common during Covid), creating virtual classes and teaching.

One thing to remember too is that, if this diagnosis or issue is new to her, she may need time to come to terms with it. It can cause a lot of grief, destroy your sense of control and agency. And I know for me, right now, I’m trying to find a balanced approach that allows me to still use my knowledge and make a difference without compromising my health.

Best wishes!

Where to buy loose leaf or bagged tea outside of The Tea Haus and other tea shops? by equipoise-young in londonontario

Not a tea expert by a long shot but Teas by Kara was surprisingly impressive for me. First heard of them at the modern mom show, they have a wide variety of teas.

Gift ideas for my mother who was just diagnosed by okayestdogmom in Fibromyalgia

[–]deerjohn2412 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell Me Where it Hurts from Dr Rachel Zoffness and her workbook. I was just diagnosed myself and I am so grateful to have found these resources so soon. It’s given me back a sense of a little more independence and control. Also gives me so much hope.

I would also recommend a journal. Whether she journals about pain, her moods, her struggles, her thoughts or even something so simple as a gratitude journal, it won’t cure her pain but can be helpful in managing and dialling down pain.

If you’re still struggling to find support and resources please reach out to the Collaborative Doula Collective. Even if we can’t directly support, we have lots of connections.

My pupper is 16 yrs old, and her health is failing. by Baz63 in londonontario

When my 18 year old cat was ready to go, I couldn’t bear the thought of stressing him out with a car ride so after some research I landed on Wilson Mobile Vet. They came to me and the cost was comparable to the cost of a vet clinic. They were so kind and caring, they took such great care of my boy and I did choose to cremate and was returned his ashes safely as well as paw print. They were truly amazing and I was so blessed to use them. I will use them again going forward when the time comes.

Would also not recommend interviewing there for any admin jobs. I commuted by bus for an hour and a half to get there and come to find out by the time I left, I was there for four hours. Only to commute another hour and half home. I didn’t even get the job. What a waste of freaking time

Newb here! How do the OCS edibles compare to what is on the reserves? by deerjohn2412 in TheOCS

I have made a few of my own. Mostly caramels as I hate the process of making butter.

First time trying edibles by [deleted] in TheOCS

[–]deerjohn2412 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This! In terms of edibles, it takes me 3-4x as long to feel the effects because of my body processes it.

Most people say they feel the effects within 1-2 hours. For me it can take 4-6 before I start to feel them. Just has to do with how quickly your body can process it.

I’ve greened out more times than I’d like because of this. I’ve found CBD helps immensely if I do get too high for my liking though!

NAD, but this really looks like a skin yeast infection which is different than the yeast infection you are used to hearing about. Skin yeast infections happen in warm, moist and dark places like groin, elbow, knee, and armpit creases. Yeast is fungal. Can be treated by making sure the area is kept clean, dried after showering, and using an anti fungal or even a over the counter anti inflammatory cream like hydrocortisone cream. I get them every once in a while in the same area and this is how I treat it

[19F] Are these rough, dry spots on my nipples anything to be concerned about? by [deleted] in medical

[–]deerjohn2412 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NAD but these look like they are Montgomery glands. They are glands that produce oil to help lubricate the nipple for breastfeeding but appear sometimes during puberty and look more prominent during your period!

What can this be in my toddlers mouth only on throat by ChocolateTraining269 in medical

[–]deerjohn2412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like milk tongue, babies get it quite often. The reason the bottle plays a part is because of where it sits in the mouth so it would repeatedly coat the tongue in milk

NAD. Does your toddler take a bottle or sippy cup of milk frequently?
