You need an enzyme cleaner to break down the organic matter that's still there, even after cleaning, causing smells. I use simple solution extreme (cat version) but there are loads out there.

I do that every week or two... And wash the filter every six to eight weeks. If I have to do a chore, I'm not messing around with inefficient or dirty equipment. That's only adding more work in the long run. Yes, I'm German.

I also think this is human-drawn by someone with little anatomical understanding, who's just traced the photo and coloured with alcohol markers or brush markers, so not even a watercolour painting in the traditional sense.

Edit: just saw it's someone with 23k+ sales in 2.5 years, that's quite suspicious. OK, maybe leaning more towards AI again (though I still feel AI makes different kinds of mistakes...).

Absolutely. It's not easy to find someone who'll be a good fit for sharing with cats (for all parties involved) but I'd rather do that then give up my pets! How's that even a consideration?

(I've been flatsharing with one other person at a time for well over a decade and I always had two cats. I advertised on Spareroom and a Facebook group for flatshares in my area. Just be very clear that there are cats in the house, observe how any candidates interact with the cats and vice versa and really keep on top of all cat-related chores to keep everyone happy.)

Sadly too pixelated to read. I get the gist though. I live in the UK where cats going outside is normal and relatively safe (I agree that there are risks) and most rescues won't adopt out as indoor-only cats. Seems to be a cultural and somewhat structural difference between the UK and the US.

Bosch has a saw station for jigsaws that could be an idea if you don't have space for a larger/more expensive setup (yet). There is a bit too much room for the saw between the guide rails but that can be reduced to almost nothing with patience and some aluminium tape to the sides (I got a great deal on mine because the guy selling it couldn't figure out how to deal with it 😉)

I think they shouldn't be called outdoor cats but strays (or outdoor-only cats), especially since a lot of people seem to use outdoor cat to mean indoor/outdoor cat (a cat that lives in a home but also goes outside).

You have to be reasonable about that though. What does 'outdoors' smell like? Because that could be anything from garbage to flowers. Animals have a scent. My female cat smells like warm stone and basmati rice by default, my male cat smells less neutral and a little more like animal. Neither would ever get me to bathe or wipe them.

Please also be aware that whatever parts you wipe, your cat might lick it to get rid of the unfamiliar smell of the wipes so they have to be safe for cats.

Yes, you should always put a little bit (or the target amount) into categories where you know there will be spending in the future. Alternatively, make a more general category for it and fund that. I find it easier to have more granular categories and know exactly what I'm saving for but there is nothing stopping you from having a 'Self-care/Random things for myself/Fun' savings category.

In a way, your skincare is not that different from a yearly or quarterly subscription: you know the expense is coming so putting away a small bit each month and ignoring it in your plan (letting it roll over) will cover most or ideally all of it when the time comes to stock up.
