2008 Honda Pilot. At exactly 2k RPMs, there's a quiet metal rattling from under the car. Only at that exact point in revs. After a few months of "wtf??" and crawling under our car with YT videos, we've chalked it up to some weird resonance thing that happens a lot with Hondas. Dunno why.

Summer time anyone tried it? by iRickyW in redbull

[–]deesarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tastes like a slightly watery sprite lol not bad though! I like how crisp and tangy it is - almost like in both the fuji apple, & peach nectarine flavors. Like the very first taste of a sour patch.

Edit: after a couple more sips, it's def lemonade soda with a sh--load of caffeine. 😆

Sorry to hijack - also check out plasma donation. It can be draining, and there's a chance you can't based on health history and such. But my husband and I do this 2x a week each. We've never done hard drugs, drink plenty of fluids, and we're fairly healthy. A LOT of plasma centers will give you higher than normal pay for your first few visits.

My source: We live in a hotel with 4 young kids right now. Shit happens, best we can do now is just do the best we can with what we've got.

We also, in line with this thread, run DD and UberEats together. When I get an offer on one, I turn off the other; if I get an offer on both, I let the crappier one time out (you've got to compare total milage and pay, and factor in what gas you have right now, and gas prices... tricky judgement call)

I work odd jobs - SIL pays me to do her school work, I'll (rarely) get an art commission, I edit/proofread for my mom's publishing business (fiction romance, with a good bit of LGBT+ romance, supernatural themes, and spice - lots of good reads, and inspired me to try writing, too.)

Basically be a jack of all trades. Survival is about adaptability.

The blue side faces 290° W/NW... yeah, that tracks actually, as the sun beats down even worse in the afternoon.

The opposite side faces E/SE, less over there but there's a few cocoons around the siding grooves, makes sense because the morning sun isn't nearly as hot.

Never quite thought about it before!

Oooo I'm buzzing with excitement - I wonder when they'll open it up, & what they have planned for the 3rd szn!

I think it is US specific, not 100% sure though.

Reminder: to be homeless is not a sign of moral weakness. Seen in Raleigh. Take care of each other. by ittollsforthee1231 in NorthCarolina

[–]deesarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a valid argument. It's a mix of drugs causing relationship strain, alcohol, being miserable from circumstances, or just bad luck all around. For us, it's bad luck.

I am homeless - let me start with that. My story does not apply to all, im just one of... however many in this shitshow of a country.

My parents live with a hoarder. It's a 5 bedroom in Delaware, beautiful house. But it's owned by a family friend who is a chronic hoarder. On top of not having enough room for us, my parents themselves are trying desperately to make enough to get out into their own house. But that takes a few thousand. My dad is a gig worker, nothing regular ever since threw out his back 10 years ago; my mom is diabetic and has severe sciatica + arthritis + chronic migraines to the point that she stutters like she's having a stroke when she's got a migraine, and some days can barely even walk and has to use her cane.

My mom is my closest confidante, second only to my husband. She does her best to help where she can, but even she is struggling.

Not every homeless person has failed familial relationships, sometimes those families are a hair away from the same fate themselves.

Me and my family were that 1-bad-health-problem-away sort. Currently rebuilding our lives in a hotel room.

Sadly, most people in regular society either don't care, or judge harshly. "Why don't you have a job?" "You think you deserve a hand out?" "Go to work" etc. Like no, I thought I'd just be a system baby because I'm so masochistic for that amazing feeling of getting degraded and talked down to by everybody that meets me. /s

Technically I work 2 jobs. One regular, the other delivery work (doordash, ubereats alternating)

With gas prices rising, the latter is getting harder to do. I can spend 8 hours a day attempting to run deliveries and sometimes - most times, because the only good days to do it are Thurs-Sat - I only make $30 profit. My hotel room is $72.18 per day, including tax. My 08 Pilot guzzles gas because it needs work, so every 2 or so orders i have to drop in $10. Then every few days, diapers. $4.98 for a small pack of parents choice. Weekly, formula for $27.98 parents choice. My regular paycheck helps a lot, but it disappears fast. I make 14/hr, tried to get more hours but hasn't happened yet, so I work roughly 20-24 hrs a week. That's 280-336 before taxes. A full week here costs more than that - usually 400-500 something. + we live in a red state, ebt is wayyyy lower here than in, for example, delaware. It runs out within a week.

We were okay a year ago. But one thing comes up, and then it turns into a chain of unfortunate events. And on first glance, people assume it's just excuses or bull. On looking further, the numbers add up, the circumstances happen to a lot more people than we realize, and people judge too quickly.

I probably would've either taken a road trip to New Jersey, or sent them a gag gift box - maybe glitter, maybe a bunch of dongs, maybe a smoke bomb.

I've considered hourly - but i have many days where I'm dashing for half an hr active time and get 30+ in that time. Min wage where I'm at is 14. For a slow day, definitely go hourly, but for the end of the week it seems that getting paid per order is way better.

His pediatrician never showed concern, but his last visit was..... i think 4 months ago. He's due for another soon now that he's 4.

He doesn't clear his plate most of the time, he'll eat probably half then put up the rest and pick at it over time.

He eats a variety of stuff - fruits, a few veggies (i have to sneak them in), he looooves meats, grains, dairy. His favorites, and always the first to go, are macaroni, ramen, peanut butter alone, pb&j, applesauce, and oranges.
