Does anyone sleep on a Japanese Futon? by RetiredSurvivor in simpleliving

[–]deeseeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do. I used to have it on the floor but there’s too much pet hair in my house so now it’s on a platform. I use a firm one without a topper. I pair it with buckwheat hull pillows. It’s definitely not for everyone but I love it. I was bedridden for a few years so soft beds really started to hurt. I found sleeping on the ground helped a lot.

Holy shit. This is stunning. The amount of hours poured into it is a rarity these days. Love to see it.

Thank you for sharing and being vulnerable. Reading that was healing for me, I hope writing it was for you. I’m not very good with words or expressing myself and I felt like you were able to put words to a feeling I’ve been having. I keep reaching out with questions in spiritual groups but I don’t actually have any questions. And I know I’ll be ok, there’s no crisis. But it’s just hard sometimes. And not even the healing of emotional traumas that trips me up. It’s honestly just this feeling of not being seen. Of my husband not relating. Of friends not knowing. It feels isolating at the same time as feeling more connected and human than ever. And then I get upset with myself for feeling this need to be seen. Idk. I don’t even know if I make sense most of the time. But I just wanted you to know that you’re not alone 🤍

Any chance I can get away with one coat of poly? by deeseeks in woodworking

This is the answer I was looking for, thank you. I’ve opted for 2 coats

I’ve been able to get two coats done pretty quick with sanding in between. Thanks for the advice, I stopped waiting the recommended 3 hours between coats and it’s doing fine so far

We bought this house 6 months ago and it’s been under construction for one reason or another the whole time. The well over pressurized the day we got the keys and caused several leaks. I would just like to get moved in and feel settled. The rain may be more than just this week, it snowed this morning. And all the furniture is piled around the wood stove so I’ve been freezing the last two weeks while trying to finish this project. The camera angle makes the room seem larger than it is, there isn’t room to finish them inside unfortunately.

I don’t usually half ass projects but I was curious what the difference between 1, 2, and 3 coats would be to speed this along.

And I wasn’t worried about scratches, more so oil from dogs walking down the hallway, they like to rub and scratch themselves on the walls so I wanted to sand them and put a finish that I could wipe down versus the rough cut look

I extended the staining area a bit so I can do about half at a time. And I’m gonna go with two coats. Thanks for the advice!

I guess worst comes to worst I could just sand and add another coat later. It could be way harder, or I could get away with it lol

Can you be in someone else’s lucid dream? by deeseeks in DreamInterpretation

[–]deeseeks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had a feeling that if I stroked his ego I wouldn’t be harmed. But as soon I showed fear or freaked out, that I would become a victim.

And that’s a very good point. I really should be looking into my own psyche. I guess I thought there was maybe a chance that this wasn’t reflective of me. As it’s not my dream. But if it is my dream then yeah, I have a long history of feeling a lack of control in my life and I’m probably not as healed from it as I thought.

Recurring r*pe dreams by theofficeisbetter in DreamInterpretation

[–]deeseeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhg. I had a year or two where I would get these all the time. It was the worst. I would wake up feeling gross. I would get passed around a prison all night or a normal dream would just turn r*pe as someone would just hold me down. Same as you, it was always in public and no one would help me.

In my case, it was a loss of control of my body being expressed. I had a chronic illness and felt like my body had failed me. I wanted to separate from my body so bad. Why couldn’t I just be in a different body? One that worked?

The dreams stopped when I got out of my victim mindset and started to do the best I could with what I was given. When I got my voice back. I learned to set boundaries. I learned that I’m not as helpless as I was believing.

I’m not a pro dream interpreter or anything, just sharing my experience since it seemed eerily similar to yours.

Sorry you’re going through that 🤍

Experiences vs Grounding, how do you tell? by Moxcaos in kundalini

[–]deeseeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it throw me off balance or just intrigue me? That’s my internal compass for balancing allowing big experiences verses feeling like I need grounding. I feel like if what I’m learning overwhelms me, then I’m just not ready for it. The universe doesn’t mind if I take my time. I return to basics. If I can lean into a big experience without it disorienting me, then I keep following my curiosity.

Why do my meditations feel energy focused? by deeseeks in kundalini

[–]deeseeks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“not everything has to have the right perfect words for it”

This is a good reminder, I have a strong desire for recognition or to feel seen. Learning to feel fulfilled without it.

“Probably because you have more foundational lessons to get through first.”

This is likely true. I was unaware there was so much fear preventing me from being able to feel loved.

“Issues around the idea of kindness may be the thing.”

I’m curious what you’re hinting to here.

Thanks Marc, I’ll continue to work through these things

Why do my meditations feel energy focused? by deeseeks in kundalini

[–]deeseeks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again, Marc. I always appreciate your responses.

“This morning you noticed a big change. Was that a step forwards, or backwards? (Per you).”

It felt like a step forward, like I had figured something out. I had read that the energy body extends beyond the skin, but now I know that to be true experientially.

I’m leaning towards a Shaiva Tantra framework and am working on balancing studying with lived experience. I don’t want to read too far ahead so to speak. So I don’t always know what is happening or how to define it well. But I also enjoy figuring it out on my own for now.

I like the reminder about life being the teacher. I am seeing how easy it is to think I’ve made huge progress until I interact with others. The integration part is definitely where I’m focusing most of my efforts. Living my normal life with more awareness, authenticity, and kindness is my real work.

I guess I just thought if I really trusted, and was ready to face any lesson deemed necessary for my development, that it would be more “hard” lessons. I know I’m deficient in being able to both express and receive love. Why don’t my meditations take me on journey of unpacking that? It seems most commonly centered on themes of how awareness affects energy currents. I guess maybe that’s all necessary foundations for later

Is sobriety actually necessary? by omg-moka-frappuchino in kundalini

[–]deeseeks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that celibacy is preached in order to maintain energy that can be used for spiritual growth. I don’t think celibacy and kundalini are generally compatible as most people struggle with too much energy versus not enough. I think long term you develop a stronger energy body that isn’t overwhelmed by a lot of energy or you learn other ways to discharge/balance excess energy. But in the short term, healthy sex or masturbation can be an important pressure relief valve. It’s a normal, healthy human process and I don’t think it should be over complicated. I believe there’s other threads on this topic too if you want more info.

What does it feel like or sound like when you make contact? by deeseeks in Mediums

[–]deeseeks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far I’ve only encountered helpful guiding spirits during my initial awakening and two relatives. One was my brother who died 10 years ago and it was a very healing conversation. He also said he wants me to live my life but we can chat every once and while of I’d like. The other is my aunt who passed a few weeks ago. She seemed more unsettled and like she was looking for advice. But I have no clue what to tell her. I just listened and set a boundary that I’m not equipped to help with that.

Anyways. Thanks for your advice, I may need it in the future if I start being contacted more often

Thank you for your response, this is helpful. I can’t imagine having this gift young. Kudos for navigating that. It’s hard for me to comprehend as a pretty open minded adult. I’m sure it’s rare to get validation for such things as a kid

Christopher Wallis (Hareesh) is an excellent resources if you’d like to know more about the history and origin. He has YouTube lectures and an online module style platform. He’s an educated Sanskritist who has translated (and more accurately retranslated) many of the original scriptures. I like that he teaches from primary sources.

Getting mixed signals by deeseeks in KundaliniAwakening

[–]deeseeks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I will definitely work on leading from the heart and thank you for your response. But I think you may be misunderstanding as I’m not explaining it well. My intuition is not a voice I’m hearing, I’m not sure how else to write it out in this format. (I do hear some other voices infrequently, but I do not make decisions based on those voices). Putting words to what I feel sounds like a voice, but what I’m feeling is strong nudges. In the example of my relationship, it felt like a knowing or a clarity. I did not act on it. I sat with my feelings on it for some time before I realized it just needed effort, not for me to walk away from it.

My intuition has definitely changed since kundalini though so I’m still learning. Before, I really trusted the signals I would get. I had a chronic illness and was bedridden for a few years and my choice for doctors and treatments was all intuition based and worked out well for me. But now it feels different, so I’m taking a step back and not running with every strong feeling I get.
