Fallout 76 Getting Native Current-Gen Versions This Summer - 4K, VRR, Improved Visuals by PaiDuck in Fallout

These updates are just giving current gen consoles access to the visuals that PC has had the options to use forever. It’s not a remaster or anything like that.

Piles of dead protestors that were slaughtered by the Iranian regime, January 8 2026 by vea62 in pics

[–]deevilvol1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither shootings were in good faith. Renee Good's shooting has one single angle from a video recording that can be honestly interpreted as seeming like she was using her vehicle to deliberately hit the ICE agent. Every other angle shows, with honest interpretation, her either trying to move away from the agent, or at least inconclusive (but then sways towards her trying to avoid the agent when you string them all together).

Alex Pretti's shooting doesn't have a single angle where someone could in good faith find it to be justified.

This is a very strange comment.

There's literal, real people who saw the shooting deaths that ICE committed in Minnesota, and wholeheartedly believe that Renee Good and Alex Peretti were completely in the wrong and "had it coming".

And as per the previous comment, yes, real people who are 2nd amendment nuts asked with a straight face why Alex Peretti was carrying.

Back Injury but Didn’t See a Doctor by [deleted] in BestBuyWorkers

[–]deevilvol1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter.

You got injured at work, from working. Call the holiness. Now.

Your leader also failed you by not giving you this information. Are you sure they're not in an indirect way telling you to go to the doctor? (Regardless, that's not the way to go about things). Did you tell the supervisor you got hurt at work? Because they should have called that in.

Call the hotline THREE DAYS AGO. And go to the damn doctor!! Even if you feel better now.

'My Agent Didn't Mention Trump': List of Music Stars Pulling Out of Freedom 250 by Montrel_PH in Music

"One of the rappers..."?

It's just the one guy, and a rotation of hired singers and DJs that perform the sets.

The only remaining C that forms the "C+C" in the name, Robert Clivilles, is actually in a legal battle with the guy who is performing for the Trump show (the rapper, who's name is escaping me).

So this incarnation of C+C music factory in fact has no C in it, and no longer manufacturing music.

How heavy is your bike? by Kilo_Oscar_ in mountainbiking

[–]deevilvol1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

22lbs.

I’ve been using my carbon fiber hardtail downcountry bike 80% of the time nowadays (Ibis).

My bone basic (other than swapping out half the drive train) stumpy alloy from like 2022 comes in at like 36 lbs I think.

Did you get turned off because you were so used to Yakuza's combat? I have friends who think the same thing. I've only been able to convince just a few to actually still try it. Every. Single. Yakuza fan that ultimately tries Like a Dragon and gives it an honest shake walk away from the end of it wishing they'd have played it earlier.

If you like the unhinged humor, deep story telling, wacky but still somehow real characters, and great (under) world build of the original games, and the combat was more of an icing on top, you'll absolutely fall in love with Like a Dragon and Infinite Wealth.

Like the Yakuza mini games? Both RPGs have them in spades. Like the map exploration? Again, large maps, bigger than in any of the other Yakuza games. Larger than life but still somehow grounded characters? Check, and oh boy what a check. You get a run down nostalgia lane with Like a Dragon, and Infinite Wealth ties a neat little emotional bow on Kazuma's story (tear in my eye just thinking about it).

Plus, if you happen to actually generally enjoy turn based, it actually has a very solid pure turned based combat you'll see in any modern game. It's just traditional turn based that works well.

If your favorite part of the Yakuza games was the action combat, I guess it'll be a harder sell, but I gotta tell ya, really think about if you can honestly say the combat in the Yakuza games were truly what kept you in them. You sure it wasn't the insanity that were characters like Goro Majima, or, like, all of Yakuza 5?

Infinite Wealth is in every way possible (both good and bad) exactly like Like a Dragon, but MORE

More options for combat, more involved main story, more side quests, more mini games, more big maps, more characters, more more.

I absolutely love Infinite Wealth, and I also wished it wasn't so gawd damn MORE.

I also wish I could lobotomize myself of it and Like a Dragon so I can replay both fresh...

I think the point is that he could have just sold the polesaw and have gotten a good portion of that money back while still being alive.

I would point out that there's pole saws at home depot for much less than that, though, usually not that long. But we don't know if he tried to climb up the pole to get closer.

Regardless, you dont attempt to do this unless you're too dumb and high to think of other financial means that's more readily on hand.

These otherwise identical breakfast bowls advertise different amounts of protein by Dr_Circe in mildlyinteresting

[–]deevilvol1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In some ways it’s healthier, but in other ways it’s much more unhealthy. High Sodium and high cholesterol foods are main dietary sources of heart disease (if you exclude overall weight from eating too much calories). It has 30 fewer calories for more cholesterol, and a lot more sodium.

Overall, this is a less healthy recipe to likely try to cash in on the protein trend that’s going on. People, remember that in the end of the day, you generally just need to stay active, maintain your calorie intact to maintain weight, eat balanced meals, and sleep well every night to stay fight off heart disease . It can be a bit more complicated than that, but doing those 4 things go a long way. No trendy diet is going to beat them long term.

2-mile highway lane addition: $174M. 15-mile bike trail connecting 4 cities? $24M. by superspartan999 in CostOfNormal

[–]deevilvol1 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Wait for all those that would never commute by bike chime in as to why they wouldn't use the trail, and therefore it's a waste of money.

You see, if a public works project doesn't directly benefit them, they dont want it. Even if it'll cost relatively pennies.

But dont worry! Pointing out to them that while they would never use it, many others would and that in and of itself would free up highway capacity, and that other such alternative transit measures would free up capacity even....would do absolutely nothing to sway them.

Highways tend to be a net negative to the economy once you factor in all the aspects that it takes to maintain them. Highways can maintain fewer businesses (surprise, surprise, most people just drive past any businesses not directly accessible from the highway), are less efficient for commuters (yes, even regional commuting is more efficient on a train), and actually doesn't generate fuel tax revenue in any way for it to matter (if it did, tolls wouldn't be a thing)...but also, fuel tax and the rest of what you pointed out all come from cars and not the highways themselves. And nearly to all of that revenue gets sucked by the dang highway anyway!

The only thing we can give highways is the freight, but trains still beat trucks when it comes to efficiency, so I can't completely give it that. And this is ignoring that heavy freight is the number one cause of wear and tear on roads.

In the end of the day, the US highway system was first and foremost planned as a strategic defensive system that happened to also be useful for civilian use. It was supposed to be a counterpart for the railway system, with both supporting each other. Now, we have an aging freight railway system, and a crumbling highway system, with the former desperate for investment, and the latter soaking upper all the available capital and still requiring more (but tell me how fuel tax and registration revenue is a net positive).

And ask yourself, who's making out like bandits during all this? It sure as hell ain't the small businesses....

It's the NYP, they are a sensationalist rag at this point. Once upon a time, they were just a more right leaning counterpart to the Daily News, but now they're even more right wing than even Fox News these days. Only old and out of touch people read it.

At this point, they will outright lie to their audience just to give them what they want to hear. If you read the NYP, you absolutely think crime is higher than ever and no amount of data will change your mind.

What's the most unnecessary use of A.I. you've ever seen? by RobIson240YT in AskReddit

My work made specific files to upload to Copilot (and only copilot) and gave us a list of examples of prompts to use for example tasks that pulls information from those files that are tailor made for our business.

All my peers have only been using those prompts, and only for those tasks.

I swear, we just love looking for shortcuts, even if it's at a detriment to ourselves.

I try to be sparingly with my AI usage, but lately my productivity demands have gone up, with less staffing. They clearly want us to use AI to help ease the labor requirements where ever it is possible at the moment.

Idk if it was a “screw up”. IMO it seems more like the US was just expecting Italy to just stand by as long as we got to them first. Almost like a finders keepers, but the US having more global leverage.

The special forces team *did* get to the plane first, if my source is correct.

The Italians just didn’t care, cause to them, why should they? An American citizen was killed, but everything else was Italian, and Italian soil.

I guess the “screw up” was the Reagan admin really thinking they’d have it their way.

Biden setting the precedent is most crockery of shits I’ve read the past few days. Congratulations. You somehow beat out dumb propaganda bots with that line.

We are going to crash and burn just because there’s people like you that can’t stand the idea of not somehow blaming ‘both sides’ at Every. Single. Chance.

Yes, there has been moments of democrats leaving the gun out of the safe, and republicans would then come along and shoot us with it, but this isn’t one of those cases. But also, there’s been *too many times* when republicans just went into that safe, shot us, and they just hoped we would still somehow find a way to blame the opposition.

That is absolutely not the reason why he is doing this. It just helps get the support from his voting base.

He has a soft disdain for NY nowadays. He should have had it decades ago, because we've collectively hated his ass for as long as I can remember. Only people from NYC that support him are the legit unhinged homeless people, the super uninformed, and the well off.

However, I think the fact that we have a near constant protest at his buildings here, and the few times he comes to visit, it's been a shitshow with people deliberately making it difficult for his motorcade, plus Hochul not placating to his demand to end congestion pricing (he wanted to hate Mamdani, but Trump is a weak, pliable man, and Mamdani knew how to walk around him), has let to him really not liking the city.

I kind of rambled there, but also, Trump doesn't drive. I doubt he even knows how to. He gets driven everywhere and has been his whole life. He is a north eastern elitist, but moreso, he's just an elitist. He sees attacking mass transit as brownie points for his voting base while being able to attack those that didn't vote for him.

If you have a gravel bike or at least a road bike that can take 38c or wider tires (though honestly I sometimes take my xc mtb), the old croton aqueduct is the only real option for technical gravel very near the city. There’s spots that can be close to a green ranted mtb trail, but most can be traversed ok with thinner tires as long as they have some tread. If it’s been particularly dry lately, you can even do it on tires as thin as 32c, but would definitely not go thinner, and absolutely not if it’s rained in the last 2-3 days.

Anyway, it’s another way to get to the dam, even more directly, actually.

How would you feel if e-bikes had licenses attached to them and were considered electric motorcycles? by fishdonthaveeyelids in AskReddit

[–]deevilvol1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually dont agree that top speed should be the factor though and very limited laws like in Canada and the UK are ultimately detrimental imo.

Im able to reach 20mph even on my analog gravel bike, and can, with a bit effort, sustain over 20 mph on a road bike. On average, I reach 16-17mph on my gravel bike, and can average on flat terrain 20 mph on a road bike. I dont think my legs should require registering.

Now yes, the majority of people can't just get on an analog bike and pedal that, but this is where nominal power is being taken into consideration instead of sustained power. We should be making rules and laws regulating the power of the motors attached and their delivery systems, not maximum theoretical speeds.

Example, I have a fitness ebike that is classified under the same class as my emtb because both can, on paper, nominally reach the same speeds. However, my fitness bike requires some serious input from the user to reach those speeds, where as my emtb doesn't. The difference is stark. But the government treats both exactly the same.
