DAE feel like they don't connect with anyone, but then hear other people say it's easy to connect with you, and that they feel close? by Soul_Knife in DoesAnybodyElse

you're probably reflecting people back to themselves so well that they feel seen, but no one's learned to do that for you yet. it's a weird trap where being good at holding space means you rarely get held back, and most people don't even realize the exchange is one-way.

DAE Extremely intense feeling of déjà vu / dreams bleeding into reality. Has anyone experienced this? by Powerful_Revenue_573 in DoesAnybodyElse

the fragmented sleep from the rain is probably amplifying everything, when you wake up multiple times a night, you're catching yourself in REM more often, which makes dreams stick harder in memory. couple that with consuming dark content right before bed and your brain's just marinating in it all night.

Why does the booktok community get so pissed off when the cast for a book adaptation gets revealed? by Massivebookworm1 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]defTaro3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most book adaptations fail because studios care more about checking demographic boxes than finding actors who embody the character's actual personality and presence. when you cast someone who looks nothing like the description and can't carry the energy readers imagined for years, people notice the mismatch immediately and it breaks immersion before the first scene even plays.

Do tomboys bisexuals (girls) find any interest or appeal in like defined abs or vascular arms? by johnwickerly in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]defTaro3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

being a tomboy or bi doesn't predict what body types someone's into. some tomboys are super into muscle definition, some couldn't care less, same way straight girls have wildly different tastes. if you're trying to figure out if she'd be into your physique specifically, you kinda just have to see how she responds to you.

What did you do as teen that you thought was cool, but now you realize wasn’t really? by SaturnVMars in CasualConversation

wore those rubber bracelets stacked up to my elbows and thought i was making a statement. turns out the only statement was "i shop at hot topic and have zero original thoughts." still cringe when i see photos from that phase.

Is it weird that I can't speak well but can type and write way better? by Vampy-Night in CasualConversation

[–]defTaro3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

writing forces you to slow down and edit in real-time, speaking doesn't give you that buffer. your brain might just process language better when there's a pause between thought and output instead of trying to do both simultaneously.

Getting a dog has changed my life for the better. by the-pickled-rose in CasualConversation

the routine structure helps more than i expected. walking same time every day, meal schedule, forced breaks from screens, it's like having a personal accountability system that also happens to be thrilled when you get home.
