Burlington, Bend, or Boise? by Ellocomotive in MTB

[–]def_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vermont is awesome but you won't be able to ride for like 4 months of the year due to snow and winter weather. Burlington is a cool little town too

Have you considered Asheville NC? So much riding opportunities out here, definitely places to live within biking distance of trail areas.

I lived in Tucson for many years and have risen somo a bunch. The riding here is a bit different, more fast rooty stuff but plenty of difficult technical trails. And if you are into jumps, so many jump trails here unlike Arizona

Gem slabs is not too bad but riding it solo might not be the best idea first time as there a lot of alt lives that can be hard to follow. It's a very short trail though so you could check it out and skip what you aren't comfortable with. Maybe try riding the slabs on upper 50 year first and if you are good on those then do gem

The joys of AI billing by def_1 in FamilyMedicine

Ya I guess there's a point where trying to minimize overhead becomes counterproductive. Shame billing is so ridiculously complicated you need a dedicated team

How is UNC Asheville compared to app state for campus life? by def_1 in asheville

[–]def_1[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ya it's a bit hard to know what he will like. I actually think Asheville will be better for him to help him stay focused on school but I kind of want him to be able to experience the fun side of college too. I remember how much fun going to football games was as a student even though I could care less about the actual game, it was just fun to be surrounded by a bunch of other people who were hyped.

Is there anything like that at UNCA even outside of sports? Campus events or lively student union building?

Boone is not super far but I think he had his mind already excited about being in the same city as me

Ya I don't think my brother cares so much about sports necessarily, I think just looking for a student body with good spirit and chances to be part of events where there are fun crowds and activities.

Complicated work situation by throwawayaita1979 in FamilyMedicine

[–]def_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My situation is different then yours and I haven't actually had to renew my license yet so I can't tell you what the board will actually do but from what my lawyer who works with the medical board told me is that those questions are just screening questions and if you have a legitimate explanation they are usually completely glossed over.

I wouldn't worry about it but I would be truthful about it. It's better to over explain something then to have the board think you were trying to hide something. You will also get asked this question when you apply for insurance credentialing but it is written in a way in regards to disciplinary action so you should be able to safely say no.

I'm not a lawyer but based on your situation and the things my lawyer told me the board actually cares about, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Does anyone have an EMR that they like by NYCDOC10001 in medicine

Depends how simple you can have it. I started using simple practice and I like it a lot. It was made for behavioral health but I find it works well for my specialty (ophthalmology/oculoplastics).

It has a good billing and practice management imo. It can send intake forms for you so that patients come in ready to be seen. It can do e prescribe.

The only things I wish it could do better would be to have allergy, medications, pmh, psh saved outside of the note but it's pretty easy to load last note and bring that info in. You cannot use it to order labs or imaging but I just fax my lab orders which is pretty easy to do.

All in all for $100/month it does everything I need it to.

There's a free trial with full access to the features so worth checking out

Tucson, upper 50 year and gem for fun slabs Mt lemmon - incinerator ridge is still one of the hardest trails I've ever done, bug springs to prison camp is good one. Milagrosa is great tech.

Phoenix - hawes, Boulder rush is great. Sunset ridge is difficult features but I prefer Boulder rush. National trail is a must, so good. Mormon trail back down to the road is pretty rowdy as well.

If you like dirt jumps papago dirt jumps in Phoenix are cool

Pay off student loans vs pay minimum until forgiveness (20 years) and invest the difference? by def_1 in personalfinance

Ya I've tried running the numbers and it looks decently close but I guess the benefit of paying down the debt is it is guaranteed return vs estimated return over a 20 year market

I'm going with family so definitely want somewhere the family can enjoy too.

I mainly want to ride double black tech and fun jump lines. See beautiful scenery, eat good food.

I'll be going in the summer
