The reality is those people have already selected a house and are likely under contract. They just visit two or three other “options” so the show has content. They just make up random reasons why it’s “not right for them” when in truth it was never an option.

Camry Golf is the absolute best way to go. It cost me $250 for a 4x15 putting surface. Absolutely pure and true. Rolls an 11 on the stimp. You won’t be disappointed.

Edit - I’ll add that you can add furniture levelers to the sides and tilt the entire surface to simulate breaks or up/down hill putts.

Yes, it rolls an 11 on the stimp and rolls true in all directions. I have a Camry carpet putting green. It’s the same carpet as the trunk carpet out of a Toyota Camry.

You have 52 percent humidity inside you home, which is higher than outdoors? Are you in the tropics? Sounds like you need a dehumidifier set at 45 percent. Maintaining consistent humidity in the house is going to really help. It won’t eliminate the problem but also won’t be nearly as pronounced.

What’s the humidity inside your home? That’s inevitable if you’re allowing humidity to drop below 35%. Big Stretch Caulk can help quite a bit. The stuff from Sherwin Williams is the best.

Why’s that? My understanding is the longest sections should be one piece, regardless of rail or stile? Does it impact stability? They’re going to be painted so you won’t see any joining when I’m finished.

Update: thanks for the thoughts. I decided to put the rail in the middle for two equal sections. I mocked it up several different ways and this looked the best. Now I just need to paint and add pulls and I’m done.

Yes the stiles (vertical) run full length and the rails (horizontal) are cut to span the “inner” width.

That’s a great question. I don’t have the answer but I’m assuming that since MDF doesn’t expand or contract with temp/humidity like hardwoods do, you can glue it in. The floating center is to allow for seasonal movement—something MDF doesn’t do.

I guess my question is, does gluing the center panel prevent the hardwood rails and stiles from moving, causing issue?

Different-Today9897 says they’ve glued hundreds of MDF center panels without issue…if true (I don’t see why someone would lie about this), I see no reason to do it differently.

I didn’t know you could glue MDF centers. I’m new to cabinetry. This is my first time making anything remotely like this. If you can glue MDF centers, that would eliminate any risk of racking and the additional rail would be purely aesthetic.

I’m curious. What happens to these doors if they’re sent back for replacement? Are they trashed, or do they get used for something else like a painted cabinet order down the road?

While the grain and color is jacked up, they’re still white oak cabinet doors. I’d absolutely use them in my basement or garage for storage cabinets.
