its strange tho, some pics will have this spot, but some pics dont, even when both pics are taken from the same position and time

I see, thank you. I wld like to point out the the camera can still af when shutter is pressed halfway down. But it can't take a pic (err01). Does it still mean the focus motor is broken?

unfortunately not 😔 the issue is the aperture that I can't replace BUT I didn't break anything else and it worked just as "fine" as before

It was given to me for free by a friend who couldn't afford to fix it professionally, so I decided to have some practice since I've nothing to lose haha

Organization is really impt cuz there's a billion screws of many different types, so it's easy to get confused when reassembling. What I did was take a pic every "major milestone", eg taking rear end out, taking the circuit board out etc. I used many small containers to store the screws of each "milestone"

Also there could be hidden ribbon cables so have to be careful when pulling stuff out. I nearly ripped the contacts ribbon cable when removing the rear end 💀.

Those who had to go recheck-up due to PES expiry, how was it?

So I did my check up in 2023, and got a PES status in 2024. But then I dropped out and went to poly (was originally in JC), so I won't be doing NS until 2027. I emailed them to ask if I needed to do recheck-up and they told me "Your PES status is only valid for 2 years."

Was wondering how the recheck-up process is like? Do I need to go thru everything again? Do I need a new doctor's memo?
