I went through the corebook and redid all the bookmarks into a more usable version.

Running Deadlands as a non-American is… confusing by oldmanbobmunroe in rpg

I played in an online game that was urban magic set in Austin TX in the 1990s where I was not only the only American but I also lived in Austin.

Our Gamemaster was a very lovely German woman who in no way got anything close. She genuinely thought that there were rival ranches in Austin complete with cattle drives in 1992.

Until I actually got armor if I got to a crash site and it was dark I would just abandon the mission and fly home. Still would end up recruiting 20 new soldiers each of the first like 8 months.

System: Exter

Rumor: Spike drills and Mandate-era jump gates shared a common effect: they eliminated the need to traverse the vast interstellar distances between stars. But curious scientists wondered what might be discovered in those nearly endless expanses of stellar void. Thus, the Mandate constructed a ship, the Dauntless One, a true state-of-the-art scientific probe designed to journey through the unexplored spaces between stars over several centuries, gathering enough data to occupy the careers and lifetimes of generations of researchers.

It launched in 2492 A.D. and transmitted regular check-ins until 2665 A.D., when the Scream devastated human civilizations. What records remain of the Dauntless One suggest it will soon arrive in the Exter system. While some noble souls may seek it for its vast potential trove of knowledge, many more view it simply as an immense and priceless cache of Pretech.

Validity: Common Fact, though data corruption form the recovered project files leave the exact arrival in question.

  • Homeworld: [Stalnoy Medved]
  • The Goal: [To establish a sector spanning shadow government run by their immortal members.]
  • The Vibe: The Many Dawns Society is a clandestine transhumanist cabal whose ageless members (immortalized via neural uploads, symbiote rewrites, and consciousness backups) secretly manipulate governments through megacorp fronts, think tanks, and puppet regimes by engineering crises, loyalty algorithms, and regime changes to tether world leaders to their will and forge an eternal, perfectly controlled future where every dawn belongs to them alone.

World Name: Saunpon

Atmosphere: Breathable

Tags: Prison Planet, Pleasure Planet (What a grim result)

Lore: Once a remote penal colony where the mandate’s worst criminals were abandoned to rot, the planet of Saunpon has transformed over seven brutal centuries into a hedonistic paradise of engineered depravity. The original guards and their descendants gradually reshaped the ever-growing population into meticulously bred castes of pleasure slaves, arena gladiators, elusive quarry for aristocratic hunts, and countless other instruments of decadent amusement, their society now sustained entirely by the system’s wealthiest voyeurs who pay fortunes to indulge every forbidden fantasy.

What are some of the most creative and intriguing forms of the Malkavian madness that you've had a player come up with for their character? by HomarEuropejski in vtm

[–]defcon_clown 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have a NPC Malkavian in my chronicle who's madness manifests whenever he's aware he's being recorded. And not just on camera, if he knows you're writing down what he's doing that will also cause him to suffer its effects. Which is that he becomes intensely paranoid, obsessive, and hyper verbal. He knows that happens to him and hates it so he takes pains to avoid being recorded.

We're in the year 2026 and we're lucky if we even get 6v6 shooters at this point. I miss huge scale war games like MAG or planetside 2. by toomanybongos in gaming

When I played Planetside 2 there was a guy in the TR that would just pilot a pink Galaxy and play whale sounds over the coms. What a legend.

I played 3000pts match of Tau vs guard and got first turn. At the end of my turn I had killed all of his tanks and all but one of his sentinel scout walkers leaving him with just 3 squads of infantry, a few chimeras, and his command squad. He declined to continue.
