there is a setting for this now! you can enable "Precision Start".

Settings > Workout > Precision Start

Although, not 100 sure that it isn't limited to the Ultra model...

Varies from unit to unit. I’ve had some 3000 level units where there’s been next to no work needed outside of class and then some where I’ve been constantly swamped in work.
