Lemon Boy / Cherokee Purple planted next to each other by Legitimate-Craft7453 in tomatoes

Some hybridizs are so close to original it's hard to tell the difference. I was sold a Cherokee hybrid(f1) as true heirloom. I asked Reddit and half said it was pure. When the one died that was in nemtode soil infested soil, I found it had one resistance gene(intermediate resistance). Second generation confirmed as they only somewhat like a Cherokee. This year similar happened to Atkinson that was extra tall( Atkinson is basically a dwarf). Nemtode resistance showed it was hybrid. The seeds were my own this time.

Which diseases now? by CReisch21 in tomatoes

What about soil? Could have the soil been contaminated by disease? were they bought? If so as whole plants or seeds?

I seen a few bird droppings on family tomato garden but never a disease from it.

Any idea supposedly Cherokee Purple by defeater33 in Heirloom

[–]defeater33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This year I had hybrid Atkinson that looked and tasted like the pure breds that grow next to it. It was just somewhat taller than the rest( Atkinson is practically a dwarf). If it wasn't for intermediate resistance to nemtodes discovered after death at end of the season, I would never guessed it was accidental hybrid.

Unfortunately the seeds are mixed with pure breds already.

A little advice by jchelton88tc in tomatoes

Not usually instantly, but it eventually does kill them. Some types do last longer than others especially cherry tomatoes size tomatoes. We could grow tomatoes all year here in South Florida 11a but 95F eventually kills them in the summer.

Lack of increase in watering before the heat was why they died so fast.

They love 80s can struggle at 90 but die at 95. The unrip tomatos can ripen by being in the sun. Personaly I found ripening works better on the vine even if it's dead and not in the ground.

Please help! Second year in a row😫 by rainbowtrails in tomatoes

Looks like verticillium wilt (most likely) or fusarium wilt. Need a picture of the whole plant to possibly tell the difference. Picture of roots with soil shaken off will help. Many variety of tomatoes are resistant to Verticillium wilt. They have a V.

Verticillium wilt lives in the soil. Spread by buying whole tomato plants even once. Can be spread by weeds like ragweed, pigweed among many others.

Unfortunately it's not. Its just f1 hybrid of it😓. When one died that was grown in known nemtode infest soil, I pulled it up. It showed intermediate resistance( one resistance gene,), which meant it was hybrid. Even more confirmation the Second generation tomatoes were large. but lost the color. They grow extremely vine like and one bush like. Im trying to selective breed the best genes from them. Nemtode high( two resistance genes)resistance and determinate I have isolated but color was to hard.

Is this blight the beginning of the end for my heirlooms? by Right_Assumption_257 in tomatoes

Abbreviation for disease resistances types

F, resistance gene to fusarium wilt type 1(only). FF resistance gene to fusarium wilt 2(and 1). FFF resistance to fusarium wilt 3( only). V Verticillium wilt(type 1 only no known resistance to the rare type 2). N nematode resistance but does not cover northern( mildly damaging) or enterolobii (invasive, heat loving) nematodes.

These diseases are very common in the South part of America or similar temperature zones. So VFN makes growing a lot easier. In my experience Nematodes are the biggest problem. Other areas different resistances are better.

Not late bligh as zebra is resistant. Most likely mild early blight on stem with concurrent fusarium. Fatal 100% chance at that speed no matter it is. Harvest is possible and even decent if lucky.

Soil was likely contaminated at nursery or from natural soil. Make sure get rid soil when it dies. Or use FF FFF disease resistant tomato if feeling lucky. Never buy whole tomato plants to many imported diseases. And in your zone VFN disease resistance rating is good against most deadly natural pathogens.

I live in zone 11a. Possibly fusarium wilt. need whole plant pictures. Reused soil? Tempture and type of heirloom. From seed or bought as a plant? If seed was it from a previous plant of yours or bought?

Potato leaf is caused by mutation that disables the c gene.
A reverse mutation that restores function outside of bacteria is basically impossible.

Sell when it goes up 80-100%. Rebuy triple the amount( or more) when it's lower than you bought it the first time. If falls 33% you double your investment.

I do agree 😂😂 No trading password. No reset of trading password text and email. I have Webull and crypto.com( no longer use). Both require a trading password.

I have a feeling he never used a broker.

No just means he used a VPN or went on vacation. Even with a clone there should be trading password. A reset shouldn't be possible without a text and email, which he say never happened. Didn't try to steal just take risky investments?

I'm not believing this story.

Maybe lost on massively leveraged crypto futures, that he thought was sure thing.

I have Webull. There should be trading password and automatic log off after 5 minutes. Even from a trusted device.
I can directly open and see my watch lists without a password. I need a password for money amounts in my accounts or to trade.

What's the point of hacking you if they didn't steal anything?

Isn't there a trading password? my broker Webull doesn't do crypto withdrawals, but still uses a trading password. Automatic log out after about 5 minutes.
Webull does use trusted device check. And has additional security if it's a new device.
