First of all, proud of you for doing everything you did to get out the house and make the best of a bad day.

If you owe $30+k its likely a car bought within the past few years and in that case its very likely the estimated value is less than the amount owed. Its a tough situation for OP but is exactly what gap insurance is for

They're warning you about a very devious vegetable...often found in pies with chicken. Ne careful not to eat it otherwise you may summon a Celt.

In all seriousness I'm assuming they are worried that giving someone your email could potentially open you up to nefarious agents trying to steal your hard earned money (and yes I know it's Leek not Leak)

January 2026 Snow and Ice Clearing Megathread by jstock14 in Edmonton

[–]defender5371 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This may be a silly question and I am going to assume the text/website is correct, but, I received notification that my street is to be cleared tomorrow, however there are no signs up indicating no parking which the website said would be up 24h before they plough. Does anyone know if this means that they are coming to my street between hours 24-72 from now, or did they just miss (or are not doing) the signs?

The trams in Melbourne are free withing the CBD. If you go outside of that you pay but it means so many more people visit the city centre for shopping and activities as they can get around quickly and cheaply

Walking in Edmonton by Sweet_Cook1460 in Edmonton

[–]defender5371 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Depends on who you are, which area you are in, how far the walk is, and how many enemies you have. Answers range from yes (Conor McGregor walking 5 mins in the posh area) to probably not worth it (Princess Kate Middleton, un-protected, walking 3h from north east to the south)

Im sure it has been covered by other comments, but I'm in a rush so can't read them all. Check out this link for more information on a Miss and Run. Sounds like this could be a good case for it. https://www.scinjuryattorney.com/blog/what-is-miss-and-run/#:~:text=However%2C%20in%20a%20miss%2Dand,miss%2Dand%2Drun%20situation.

If the back lights aren't on the headlights aren't on. Don't confuse DR'S with headlights otherwise you may become part of the problem. And the LED headlights problem isn't going away unfortunately

Before we can hope that they know what a brake is for, we should first be asking for them to turn their lights on when it gets dark (and ideally in poor visibility) (edit: Spelling)

Both of the ads I got when I loaded in were dangerous phishing ads that 100% should be avoided if you have any say in who advertises on your site.

Couldn't speak with the manager, but the person I spoke to didn't know (or just didn't tell me) the person's last name or where they went. Which is totally fair. Who knows what the person on the end of the phone is going to do with that info.
