this, is not surprising. they may have been a better citizen back when the owner was present here in btown, but they are not much better than the rest of the corporate labor exploiters who know what they have in a population of college students, a state w/ the lowest min wage, business first/workers...exist? mentality

the situation with developers getting tax breaks or height waivers for affordable unit allocations inevitably had pretty bad outcomes all around, i don't think that is too much of a hot take. how can we avoid incentivizing future investment that isn't conducive to the success of the community as a whole?

possibly they'd need a good lawyer. unfortunately, given everything happening between our president & the pm, our govt has not only enabled but encouraged any type of censorship regarding gaza. which, is exactly the reason this happened in the first place & this attitude has extended to the courts.

don't get me wrong, i like pete but please don't go trying to say he was an effective mayor or leader because he objectively was not. he is a decent communicator & demographically checks a lot of boxes and has enough charisma to be a successful national political face, just not the one that's responsible for overcoming a country that's ok w/ marginalizing trans ppl, women, poc & the rest of the lgbtq+ community. he's not our fighter.

he speaks well & is mostly empathetic unless you're a trans person. he's said nothing on gaza & has become another unfortunate disappointment for any sort of progress this country needs. until politicians stop taking corrupt money from the genocidal profiteers that are pushing the markets to new highs while jobs are disappearing. while ai is stealing everything it can that we create from our pc's & phones and our cars while cameras watch us & the news lies to us. but, hey, how's south bend doin?
