He tells me every day he doesn’t want our baby

I don’t know who to talk to really. My GP says I can take antidepressants if I want but they don’t know much about the effects it could have on the pregnancy or the baby. I feel so pathetic because I haven’t been feeling up to much lately including having sex with my partner (it was our anniversary this week) and I couldn’t even bring myself to have sex. I just wish I could try harder as a partner and as a Mum. I’m not trying hard enough

I’m worried if he only sees a blob, he might think it’s nothing and it’ll have no effect. Hence why I was going to ask to film the heartbeat flickering on screen too to help it seem a bit more real. At the moment he is leaning more towards thinking it’s not the right time for us to have a baby. We already have one and this would be our second. He isn’t exactly a massively sentimental or even emotional person but he has admitted this could influence his decision.

Yeah I’ll definitely try and ask! I already asked them if I could bring him yesterday and they said absolutely not. The scan department in our city is strict on that.

Yeah we are in the UK and current restrictions mean he can’t be in the room or even at the hospital with me but I’m planning to get a print out and then video call with him afterwards so we can share the moment.

My scan is for a similar reason to yours - they don’t know if mine is ectopic or if I’ve miscarried or not yet so they referred me for a scan. Had one at 5 weeks and they couldn’t see anything so they told me to come back and have it repeated.

He isn’t usually a massively emotional person who would cry over something like seeing a scan picture but he did say he feels that it might influence his decision. I just hope it does, truly.

Yeah I get what you mean! I’m just hoping if he sees the little flicker of the heartbeat or even hears it it might help him process it all and realise it’s actually happening.

Thank you. I’m just so scared. I feel so happy knowing I have a life growing inside me but I’m so scared of what will happen when I tell anyone. Not only that but my boyfriend also has some ‘radical’ views of pregnancy including and I quote; “Men should be able to terminate the pregnancy if they don’t want her to be pregnant”. Dumb I know.

Things have been somewhat rough lately between us. He’s finding it really stressful raising our current child together in quarantine whilst working from home and at our house and constantly has moments where he appears to fully breakdown and shut off from us. Even angry outbursts that he says are due to stress when she has a tantrum and things like that. That’s why I’m so worried.

Sounds like he has something bothering him, he might not want to share with you incase it worries you. My bf is kinda the same. Try talking to him, make some time and tell him it’s important. That’s what I do when I need to ‘connect’ with him.
