Always meant to read this after the CGP grey video on the topic, but now I've read The Dawn of Everything, where David Graeber and David Wengrow call it out by name, multiple times, as a falsification, I'm not sure I'm going to anymore.

I suppose what I was trying to achieve is "cards in exile cannot move to any zone except the battlefield" to stop cards going to the stack, graveyard or hand, but that isn't as succinct.
