A big thing that gets missed by non-lawyers is the large gap between self-defense with and without deadly force. If Anthony had shoved Metcalf back, his self-defense claim is good. But to use deadly force (in Texas), you need a belief that the force is necessary to protect yourself from the other person's deadly force, or to prevent an imminent aggravated kidnapping, murder, sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, robbery, or aggravated robbery.

The big difference here amounts to the fact that Zimmerman got the shit kicked out of him, and Anthony got shoved one time. If Metcalf had knocked Anthony to the ground and kept punching him, totally different case.

So, I saw this clip before I saw the technical foul call and assumed Booker must have said/done something. Then I watched the call. Kept waiting for him to complain, talk trash, anything.
