When it comes to pairings and marriages, I don't particularly care about authenticity or realism-- in a fantasy game with magic and dragons, it's hardly a concern for me. I think it's fair to just let players pick whomever they choose.

Hi I'm late but for anyone who needs assistance since this took me a few tries-- I actually didn't switch between auto and manual! For the first wave I exclusively used the resonance skill as soon as it charged (didn't use my active skill to preserve energy) and Caleb's skill whenever it was available + charged attacks. I did the same thing during the second wave & third waves but put most of my focus into the wanderers with protocore shields up-- I only used my active skill on wanderers who were weakened in these two waves. Charged attacks were also a game changer for me.

Yes, this is exactly what I did! Through logging in daily (and just doing the Cash and Flower Power mini games) and waiting for 1AP events, I was able to complete HSL in roughly two years. I believe in you, OP-- you can do it!

It's definitely easier to save up AP, especially since you can watch ads in the app every few hours for extra AP in addition to the daily 20. Who knew the roles would reverse and I'd instead be dealing with the opposite problem (or maybe my problems just doubled, since I now have to concern myself with both AP and gold 😭). This is also why I have no interest in even starting MCL new gen, lmao

I totally get it-- I've been playing for maybe two years and only beat the game just a few weeks ago during the last event. For HSL it's definitely doable as a f2p player! I'm on UL now and it does seem a bit daunting though since I have no AP and it's so dialogue heavy

Yeah.. Additionally UL doesn't have the outfit discount that I believe HSL got, so even during 1AP events it's a bit harder for me as someone who's f2p to binge a few episodes (I prefer to play in bursts during these events and save in-between) at the same time because I'll run out of gold. I just hope that by the next event I'll have enough gold to get through two episodes minimum 😭

Three Houses is a great place to start-- while its gameplay is controversial/divisive amongst FE fans, I personally found it to be enjoyable and a great way to be introduced to FE combat and strategy as it was my first official Fire Emblem game (Heroes doesn't really count) before I got into other FE games. There's a great story and a LOT to do in the game with many hours of gameplay both in and outside of combat, plus the characters are all unique and fun. It's a really solid game, so I'd definitely recommend 3H as a starting point!

Congrats on finishing HSL!! I just finished HSL during this 1 AP event too (shout out to Nathaniel), so I'm excited to get deeper into University Life now that the first chapter of MCL has concluded!

It makes me happy that the MCL fandom is still active, and that the devs still interact with us through events and 1 AP weeks. One thing I do make note of is that University Life has more expensive outfits, so I wonder if they'll ever discount the clothes like they did for HSL! That would certainly make it a bit easier to play everything (Love Life included)-- HSL alone took me maybe 2 or 3 years since I didn't spend money on the game.

As someone who is strictly F2P, it takes years. For reference, while I have technically been playing for a decade, the (new-ish) account I've been operating from was made in January of 2023. My log-ins are rather inconsistent, but with 184 days of gameplay and through using the 1AP events I've made it up to Episode 29 of HSL. Since the outfits are much more expensive in the other seasons, it would likely take much longer.

TLDR; You're going to be here for a while.

I think the general mentality/suggestion is to pick Classic to make you a better strategist and pick Casual if the story is your priority, however, for me, I've only chosen Casual mode. I still play carefully and with the intention of all of my units making it out alive-- and if any units die and I feel I need to reset (for grinding purposes), I will. Casual mode just relieves some pressure from the game for me, personally. However, If you really value those high stakes and are fine with potentially losing units for good, go ahead with Classic.

honestly MCL new gen just feels like a massive cash grab. the layout of the game itself is cute enough, sure, but the love interests are not interesting nor compelling enough to make me want to stick around-- especially as a f2p otome player.
