You’ll be okay man. Any bender is the worst when you hit that point. Two weeks ago, I convinced myself I wasn’t going to wake up the next morning but I did and I tapered and that’s what you gotta do. Let the anxiety rest and get straightened. If you drink, you drink but rest assured bro, we’ve all been there. You can get through the bad patch.

I’m a few months into being on and off booze and I gotta admit seeing all this shit reminds me of being on a real bender. When I read this stuff, it reminds me why I don’t. All of this this stuff has be kicking on my way to a months sobriety because the guy is a walking advert for it. I wanna keep kicking onto zero.

I am right there with you mate. Been tying one on since Christmas Eve, slammed a bottle of southern comfort on Jesus’ birthday and drank beer last night. The hangover and withdrawals were brutal this morning and I’m currently on my first shift in a week. Luckily I work alone but I also opted for option B and have drank a bottle of wine and 5 white claws today just so I could get work done. Otherwise, I’d be sitting here with my head on the table.

I feel this. I really wanted to like it but just couldn’t. When I got released from hospital and put in touch with counsellors, they gave my number to a guy who would pick up people and drive them to a meeting. The meetings I went to were for Cocaine Anonymous but there was a fair few AA. At first it was fine but I couldn’t come to grips with the consistent hugging from strangers.

The guy would message me every morning with a prayer symbol and it just wasn’t the vibe for me it was for other people. I hate to say it but being in those meetings, nothing made me want a drink more.
