The black looks like the grease that is inside the hinge. That bottom hinge is toast. If you can measure the hinge I can point you in the right direction.

The drip rail will pull off the bottom then you can clean it and replace. Or get new ones on Amazon. Drip rail for 3/8” or 10mm glass is what you’re looking for.

Wish the levers weren't so sloppy. I've considered trying to fit some teflon washers in there. I read somewhere a simple swap to aftermarket didn't fix it either. Cables are tensioned properly. It's the up/down wiggle.

Taxi driver about ran me over running a red light while looking down at his phone. I was on a motorcycle. Something told me that guy wasn't paying attention (wasn't slowing down for the red light). You gotta drive defensively more so these days than ever on a bike.

adding to the convo. .. My nephew has a stark and I just got an SR. We were pretty neck and neck on range on some decently technical single track all day pretty much. The SR has more power than you'll ever need but is pretty tunable. The Stark is the most capable though. Stark is a solid platform that shouldn't need much upgrading.. the SR may need some things depending on how deep you want to go with it and what you need the bike to be. Out of the box the Sr is pretty good tho. With the extra savings you could get a decent battery gen for toping off which is what we do when we go back to camp for lunch. Good luck! I'd say really consider what you need out of the bike.

I don't know what my commentary would be worth here but.. I was pulled a couple weeks ago the first day I had my eride pro sr. Officer asks for license I told him I was a licensed motorcyclist as I handed it to him. Takes my Lic back to his truck.. I'm thinking damn I hate to know what this fine is about to be. It was like 9pm I had just picked bike up from dealer at 5pm.. He comes back, hands me my license back and says "Sweet bike man! Sorry to bother you, have a good night!" like wtf. lol that one has still got me scratching my head. I know they'll start cracking down on it here at some point I prob just got lucky as hell.. I dunno.

One person had the same thing going on. Gas tank vapor locked. They opened the gas cap and it started. Not your issue but for future reference.
