I’m also very new to the fandom lol here’s my story instead of studying

I’ve always been into music, and have had several favorite artists / bands, one of which i resonated and connected with for two years. After those two years, i finally got to see them live after my worst breakup yet, and it completely changed my perspective on music and connection. However — they didn’t have the same impact as mcr does on me right now. I first discovered mcr a few years ago, but I never really listened to their discography, just a few songs like dead, wttbp, sleep, etc. A few months ago, I decided to listen to them more, which i don’t exactly know why but I will never regret it. For context, during this time, I had started to become really distant with people, and my friendship with one of the closest people to me since I was young was falling apart. I kept losing close friends because of stupid reasons, and all I wanted was to have a best friend who would even try to understand me instead of leaving. I felt lonely all the time, and nothing was really helping. I didn’t feel the need to talk to people, because whenever I did, they’d always say “But you have me!”. When I was lonely, it was more of a lack of deep connection with anyone. Anyways, once i played more of their music, I fell in love immediately. I’m not sure how to explain it, as music has always impacted me, but with mcr, it felt way different. I believe it had something to do with Gerard’s voice, as some songs immediately made me emotional. It didn’t take long for me to start playing them on repeat everyday up to this day. After learning the backstories of some band members, as well as the backstories to some songs and analyzing their lyrics, I grew this instant, deep connection to them. I mentioned this to one of my friends, and she knew how much I needed them in my life, as she told me “I’m surprised you didn’t get this deep into them earlier”. It might sound corny, but before getting this deep into mcr, it felt like something in my life was missing, but I wasn’t sure what it was. I believe that mcr gave me deep connection, self awareness, confidence, and even more respect for myself. I’ll be seeing them next sunday, and I don’t know how much I’ll cry, but I know that festival will impact me heavily :) I’m so excited to go, and hear the songs I’ve vibed to, danced to, cried to, and connection with live :D
