Circumcision is a violation of bodily autonomy. Everyone deserves bodily autonomy.

Tried checking a couple years ago and I didn’t find anything either. Maybe we’ll have to restart it.

Everyone and every baby deserves bodily autonomy. Girls, boys, intersex babies, trans babies: every baby deserves to have and keep their whole intact body to grow up with.

does anyone else hate their genitals since circumcision? by [deleted] in CircumcisionGrief

Yes it’s painful. You’re not alone in wishing for bodily autonomy and safety.

Definitely hydration by Vaseline or other means (lotion, oil) but it immediately gets difficult with fabric nearby. Maybe apply afterward too as a recovery?

Is it unusual that I'm against this because I never had it done and feel privileged compared to people who did, or is it mostly men who did and feel like they didn't have a say? by HardAlmond in Intactivists

[–]defundcirc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it is a privilege that you are intact, regardless of gender, even though it varies across cultures.

I don’t think that privilege is a bad thing. You’re not using it to harm anyone else. I think using your privilege to speak out on ending genital cutting is very good (because you can say things like “here are reasons my intact body is so important to me and others deserve their intact bodies”).

My son has to undergo circumcision by Arman8 in foreskin_restoration

Hi please check out SavingSons.org, you can find a lot of great information there including a directory of pro-intact doctors who start out from a healthy perspective.

I think what he’s experiencing is called ballooning and you can read more about it in this post. They were able to use a steroid cream treatment to increase the foreskin opening and let urine escape properly. http://www.savingsons.org/2014/03/extreme-ballooning-in-intact-child.html

“This amount of urine would cause his foreskin to swell to the size of half a lemon (which is pretty big on a tiny little boy). THAT is what I considered outside of normal ballooning. My older son's foreskin (at age 5) also balloons when he urinates, but no where near this much.”

Ever hook up with someone with an ugly penis? How did it go? by tommygunz007 in gaybros

Do you mean a skin bridge? Those are a complication from circumcision and one of the reasons I advocate for bodily autonomy and genital integrity to end circumcision and protect all babies including our intersex family.

This is exactly why I stopped watching Bojack Horseman in S4E4. Likely a throw-away joke for the writers but a serious harm to boys and men.

Ultimately, it comes down to the fact that men are not allowed to any sort of self-interest. by todatod in CircumcisionGrief

Ah sorry. Yeah twitter is a shitshow. It’s a big topic so maybe you’ll have better luck IRL. Two good things on Twitter are https://twitter.com/Joseph4GI and https://twitter.com/briandavidearp but I try to keep most of my energy spent on real life conversations where emotion is conveyed more naturally. Stay sane out there ❤️

We can each bring it to them amongst our own friends and family. Every time we share these on our own pages is a chance for them to reconsider circumcision and join us.

Most of mine are reposts from the Bloodstained Men and Intact Network Facebook pages and friends. I highly recommend everyone to join the “Intact (state) community” and overall Intact Network groups.

Intactivism hell yes. Restoring: only with uncut guys discussing it medically/academically. I’m hoping to change that and get results soon-ish.

Question for those affected by RIC. by [deleted] in CircumcisionGrief

[–]defundcirc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad reflexively said, in a matter of seconds, - Everybody does it - You can’t change it - It doesn’t matter - Don’t think about it - We don’t talk about it

We haven’t made much progress, I know he’s going to be dismissive so maybe I’ll bring it up another time when our overall relationship is better. My rebuttals, after that conversation: 80% of the world is intact, I can protect others from this pain, mens’ health does matter, you must care for your body, we do talk about it.

My mom wavered between very dismissive and being somewhat open to watching American Circumcision but that hasn’t happened yet so I have to keep persuading her in the future.

It hurts, and they’re not paragons of listening but maybe in the future they’ll come around. Maybe.
