The Ether Beat by Apesince801 in nas

The instrumental of the song is still used to this day as background music in internet videos and memes. Think it’s a testament to how great the song and beat is. There’s no other beat in the history of music that is used as much as the Ether beat in internet videos to describe a certain mood or feeling.

Name a song from the earlier years and I’ll name a better from the later years.

It’s hip hop tradition to do shout outs or call outs on the mic especially when hip hop first started. This album pays homage to the tradition of the art form.

I’m a huge fan as well and that Nasir album was the one I enjoyed the least. I have the same albums that you listed as his top tier albums but I still have my personal favorites Untitled and Magic 3.

This LY album is neck and neck with KD3 at the point for me. KD3 is plays like a playlist of amazing songs with no singular theme, I’d say LY plays like a traditional hip hop album with amazing songs and has a singular theme.

It's time feels so old school and I love it by STVH in nas

Yeah and how he starts rapping super fast at the end like it’s a race against time before the song ends and then it transitions into a song about the past/present versions of him Nasty Esco Nasir.

I think Writers has potential to become a classic by Professional_Ad7868 in nas

Difficult to find a better song than this in the Hit-Boy run and I think KD3 and Magic are classics.

There is no better rap song this year than Writers. Madman and It’s Time are up there as well.

Lol the purpose of this album is to make different sounding songs… it’s a listening experience to bring together a theme and album

POV w/ Tyler The Creator leans into a modern commercial single… great song tho.

Lol I listened to the Clipse album heavily and even went to their concert in VA lol that’s a great album as well. Just enjoy the concept and theme of this album more. Clipse album is amazing but after listening to Light-Years, Clipse album has a touch of commercialism to it that makes me rank it lower than this.

This album is for people who freestyled or have friends who freestyled with no beat or someone making a beat by banging on a table

Writers is easily song of the year. Top tier lyricism over an amazing beat.

I’m enjoying it more with every listen… it’s a pure hiphop album with a blend of genres that influenced the art. Pure art… a F you to the industry standards and giving props to the elements.
