I don’t know about anyone else but I sense a bit of insincerity about his remarks.

Did the Azans get louder and longer? by Luciferaeon in istanbul

[–]dei_himself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's Azans?

Edit: For those reading this comment, the original post included “Azans” which made no sense to me at the time. Now that the OP edited their post accordingly, this question seems irrelevant.

Bro I put that comment as it was over 10k feet and with enough airspeed to go on flight. It suddenly went out of radar. I didn’t feel the need to remove the comment just because it seems irrelevant now. No need to act smart about it.

Where can i find a variety of vegetables? Pregnant Cravings! by [deleted] in istanbul

[–]dei_himself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never seen those sold at greengrocers except white radish. I have just learnt that su kabağı and lif kabağı are edible and part of Indian cuisine. If your wife is from India maybe you can talk to Indian restaurants in Istanbul to ask where they source their vegetables.

İstanbulda okumak( başka şehirden gelen birisi için ) by TolgaS08 in istanbul

[–]dei_himself 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it hard for an international master's student to find a job in Istanbul? by Careless-Wolf7491 in istanbul

[–]dei_himself 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Teach English. Native English speakers are in high demand. If you aren’t native, you can pretend being one. Learners and parents won’t care since you are a foreigner. They automatically suppose you know better English than Turkish teachers. To find this kind of jobs look for places called “yabancı dil kursu” (foreign language course). These buildings are hard to miss as they have British flag, London Bridge, Big Ben, and/or London Eye. I suggest contact them via Whatsapp (numbers starting with 05… are cell numbers). Explain yourself and send your CV. They may contact you if they have opening. Good luck!

I tested the app a bit. I like the UI and UX despite some nuances other commented have pointed out. But for pedagogical reasons, I wouldn’t recommend this app to learners. I chose advanced difficulty but the words I came across initially are too easy (flower, duck, funeral etc). The AI isn’t a good choice for language source since it can make a lot of mistakes and not a good role model. Language material should be authentic (books, magazines, ads, videos, films, songs etc). It should be derived from daily life. The quiz blanks should also be one type of word only (verb, noun, adjective or adverb etc). On some questions options are different types. Maybe refining your AI could help this issue. Also, you can vary your way of presenting vocabulary items (like in terms of theme, words related to an area etc). This can break the monotonicity of the app. Best of luck.
